I am so sick of reading this book every single night. I seriously think I am going to take it out of room tonight and see what happens.
What book are you over??

Have you seen my cat? by Eric Carle. This book literally just repeats the same two sentences over and over again. Luckily, LO tore it apart herself in her zeal to find the cat.

Eric Carle's "mister seahorse."
Some of the illustrations freak me out and the book is totally boring and kind of weird, if you ask me. Like the fish with his mouth full of eggs. Ew.

Practically every Eric Carle book I hate. I also am not a fan of Henny Penney. DH loves it, but the end is disturbing.

I threw away Doggies. I blackballed Stuck (only Daddy is allowed to read that one).

@ShootingStar: I like the 10 Little Rubber Ducks one, but that's about it!

"Katy No Pocket" is my daughter's favorite book of all time. I have hid it numerous times, but she asks for it and looks so disappointed when she can't find it that I always cave and eventually bring it back. It's a cute book, but it has sooooo many words and she wants it every single night. I have figured out how to skip most of the words and do a super brief reading of it, but I'm still SO tired of it!
I also really dislike the Minnie Mouse books and most Bernstein Bears books as well!

Somebody gave LO1 a book about a night parade and how the little kids all get up in the middle of the night and have fun. I hid that after reading it to her once because I do NOT want her to follow that lead.
I have to say that I find Pete the Cat annoying.

M loves the giving tree but it makes me SO sad I really hate reading it. Other than that we have a few really old nursery rhyme books that are just weird.

Baby Baa Baa. It came in a 3 pack and the other two are tolerable but that one is the worst. I recycled it.

@MrsF: I think I cry every time I read that one!!
Digger Dozer Dumper is too long for me, ugh.

Chicka chicks boom boom, because K only wants me to read the pages that say'chicka chicka boom boom' and nothing else. There are maybe 4 pages that I'm actually allowed to read to her.

E has this Frosty the Snowman book I finally threw away. It played music in a sort of tinny sound. I COULDN'T TAKE IT.

Jingle Bells that plays music - I could not listen to another 15 rounds of it each night. It's hidden at the top of the closet until next Christmas.

@mrs. wagon: Oh no, you don't like Stuck? I love that one (but maybe just because I haven't been asked to read it 5,000 times yet).
I had to take Green Eggs and Ham out of rotation. Sooo long and repetitive...

Curious George and The Surprise Gift. We've read it every night for weeks. He LOVES it. I don't mind reading the "if you give a ____ a ____" (e.g. If You Give A Moose a Muffin) books over and over, but for some reason this George book is driving me crazy!
His other favorite that takes FOREVER to read and that we read over and over for weeks was One Moose, Twenty Mice. He loves to count the animals on each page and pretend it takes forever to find the cat. Ha.

She's obsessed with a duck and goose book, "Goose Needs a Hug." I hate it on principle--it's about how these annoying ducks won't listen to Goose tell them what he needs and keep interrupting him until he yells that he needs a hug, and then they're like "why didn't you say so?" Umm, he tried, you're bad listeners, you mean pushy ducks!
(clearly I've read this book way too many times...)
