I don't like going to the eye doctor because my eyes get so much worse at each visit!
Which doctor appointments do you dread the most?

Well seeing as how I didn't ask any questions when my OB said my 36 wk appt would be my "swabs" and then I just remembered and dr googled what that entailed- I am now dreading my 36 week appt and the lovely rectal swab that will accompany it:(

@travelingbrit: That's what I read...That it's one swab in the vag and then another in the rectum. I was not a happy camper when I read that!

@PrincessBaby: I never got a rectal swab done.. !

@chopsuey119: Well maybe Dr Google is wrong! I hope so! I can handle things going into my V but I'd prefer to skip anything entering elsewhere, lol:)

@PrincessBaby: I had to do the Group B Strep swabs twice (once like normal and the second time to determine what strain it was). I was really dreading it but it honestly wasn't as bad as it sounds. It was around the outside for me, nothing internal.
I dread any doctor's appointment that includes needles!

@PrincessBaby: I didn't even feel the rectal swab. I think he just swiped it along the outside really quick. I felt the vag one more.
I'm better now but I used to dread going I the dentist. I always needed work done! But I finally got all my old fillings replaced and things have been good for awhile. I do love getting my teeth cleaned though, I feel so refreshed after.

@PrincessBaby: I've read that a lot of doctors will let you do the Group B swab yourself - definitely worth asking if you're anxious about it.

@PrincessBaby: Okay maybe I did have it done if it's part of the Group B strep? HAHA. I didn't feel it though!

@mandb36: Good to know! Just out of curiosity, were you sick or did you have any symptoms of Group B strep? I guess I'm wondering if you can feel totally normal and then be like "Oh, I got a positive swab." I am clueless:)
@sweetkate: @hergreenapples: Thank you both! I will def ask if I can self-administer:)

@PrincessBaby: Nope, I felt totally normal! I had no idea I had it and actually thought it was going to be negative. I was surprised when they called me to tell me that it was positive.

@PrincessBaby: You usually won't get any symptoms with Group B Strep. Just BAM! Positive test.

@PrincessBaby: it really was nothing for me, I had built it up to be way worse than it was. It went super quick and I was back in my clothes in no time.

I dread any kind of internal exam appointment. And worse: my LO's well baby check-ups that involve shots. HATE those.

I hate the dentist. Ughhh...it makes me shudder just thinking about it.
@PrincessBaby: The rectal swab is external. My midwife had patients self-administer. Either way, it's no big deal. Promise!
