I can't decide-- this will be DD's big Christmas present. She just turned 3, but we do have a 10 month old dd too. Same cost.
Taller but less "dollhouse-ish" or smaller but more of a standard dollhouse?
I'm so drawn to #2 but not sure!!

I like the bottom one more because it has more of a floor plan footprint. Dd got a hand me down from a neighbor and it has narrow footprint like the top one. It's very hard to put any furniture in it! She ends up playing with all the accessories outside of the dollhouse. DD2 is 15 month old and they both play very well with it!

I would go with the one you like better- both will take up a fair amount of space so you will have to look at it! I also think number 2 is cuter anyway.
I assume you have plenty of space for either?

I like the bottom one! I've always been drawn to the more simplistic houses anyhow! I love the plan toys ones, for example.

I think the fact that the 2nd one is reachable from multiple sides will be the winner with 2 kids! My boys have a more simple doll house that they play with frequently, one on one side and one on the "outside" putting cars/people in the roof/attic.

@Mrs. Tiger: I vote #2 for the exact same reason @Mrs. Tiger: listed - multiple access points! Hopefully less shoving each other out of the way!

I love the top one, it just looks more appealing to my imagination, I feel like I could access more in there if it makes sense!

@sorrycharlie: we have the target version of #1 (it's still kid Kraft but it isn't called the magestic mansion) and its HUGE. The furniture fits great in it and we love that you can use Barbie dolls in it.
It's pretty tall though. Chloe is 36" and can finally use all 3 floors of the doll house. Charlotte is 14 months and about 30" and can only use the first two floors.

I like #1, Barbies should fit and it will grow more with her

@Mrs. Jump Rope: holy crap! You can fit a Barbie in there?! The thing must be freaking enormous. LOL just for how big it is, I wouldn't buy #1. I would have no where to put it!
