I'm looking to buy a new king size duvet insert/comforter for myself and a twin size one for LO. Ideally it could be used year round. Any recommendations?

@dolphin: We just got a reversible grey and white (other side is white and grey in reverse haha) duvet cover from target. It has a quatrefoil pattern. Coincidentally we chose something similar for our nursery!

We have a down comforter insert and duvet cover from west elm. The pattern isn't available anymore but I was very happy with the quality for the price. They also have a good return policy, which we found when we chained our minds about the first duvet we got from them, months after it shipped! The dimensions were a little different than other king comforters so we opted to just get both from there to keep the dimensions the same.
LO is still in a crib so no nice comforter yet.

We have one from ikea that has two pieces. Use both in cold weather and only one in warmer weather. LO doesn't have one yet. We have been happy with ours.

I have one that I bought from Ikea. It's an all seasons duvet insert, so it's lightweight, which is perfect because I keep my house the same temperature year round.

We have a down insert and a duvet cover by Barbara Barry (bed bath and beyond) it's really good quality and we got it as a wedding gift!

Our duvets are from ikea. They are definitely too warm for summer though, but we also don't have a/c.

We have two (our bed, guest bed) from The Company Store. They're both 5+ years old and still just like new. They come in different weights for different climates. We live in the northeast and got the medium one. I highly recommend them. We put them away for the summer and just use a quilt.

My son has a primaloft duvet from The Company Store, I am really pleased with the choice.
I have a down blanket on the master bed, it's a TJ Maxx special from many years ago. It's held up well, surprisingly.
