Which play kitchen does your lo love? It's time to get dd a play kitchen and I was thinking of the one from Ikea? I wanted to see what moms here recommend.

We have this one: https://www.amazon.com/KidKraft-Grand-Gourmet-Corner-Kitchen/dp/B002OE01XG/
DD and her friends love it. We got it when she was 18 months, she's now 2.5 and has played with it almost every day for the last year. It's big enough that 2-3 toddlers can be there at once and there are lots of doors to open and close and knobs to turn.

We have this one and I really like it because it stays in our living room and doesn't stand out in the same way that bright, flashy "kid stuff" does.

I love the ikea one. In terms of aesthetics and price i think it can’t be beat.

We have the ikea one and I agree for price and appearance it’s pretty good. The Kid craft ones are pretty cute, but I think kids don’t really care as long as it has good play functionality. A toy kitchen is a toy kitchen to them and they’d probably be happy with any kitchen so I’d pick what you want to look at and pay for.

We don't have much room in the house so she has a very basic one but I prefer wooden to plastic! It looks similar to the Ikea one. #1 for me is good storage to shove all the playfood/utensils in!

our IKEA play kitchen has been used every single day for 1.5 years now and it looks brand new - my son adores it. We hacked it to make it a little cuter, and to better match our houses style....

We have this one: https://www.kidkraft.com/red-vintage-kitchen-53173.html I think it’s super cute, but I’m not sure it’s cute enough to justify how much more expensive it was than the IKEA one.

We love our IKEA kitchen! We got the pots and pans etc to go with it and LO still plays with it regularly almost three years later. I hope LO2 will like it too so I can justify buying some new foods, maybe the Melissa and Doug cutting food, etc.

@erinbaderin: we have that one too and I totally agree
I always thought the hape one was cute and I just saw a nice one from plan toys.

@crazydoglady: we have the same one and chose it for the same reason! Took DH forever to put it together though.

We have a Hape wooden play kitchen and after 4.5 years of daily use it’s still in really good condition! It does have some sun fade as it lives in a sunny part of our house so I’m not surprised but it’s structurally sound.

I wanted and researched wooden ones, but we ended up with a plastic cheapie Step 2 version. It got the most use when we had it outside and my son used it as a mud kitchen.

We have the Kidkraft vintage kitchen above, but in white. It was a good fit for the small space we had available. I was able to get it from Amazon on sale before Christmas, so we paid about the same that we would have for the Ikea kitchen. I like that it has lots of places to store the play dishes and pay food, and the knobs to the stove click when you turn them.

@erinbaderin: We have the same vintage kitchen in navy. It’s durable and both my kids love it.

@looch: We did a plastic one too, and we really like it!
1) there was no/very little "putting together"
2) the buttons make sounds and the burners make a boiling sound when you pot a pot or pan on it, that my kids love.
3) It's very sturdy and it can't get paint chips or dings.

We have the same one as @crazydoglady: .
I love all the parts, and we have it in my kitchen, so it blends right in.

We have a wooden one from Hape and really like it. I wanted one that was small. It’s on sale today on amazon!

We have this one from Hape: https://www.amazon.com/Hape-Creative-Cookery-Wooden-Kitchen/dp/B000A6L6WK/ref=sr_1_12?s=toys-and-games&ie=UTF8&qid=1521132394&sr=1-12&keywords=Hape+wooden+kitchen
I like it because it is small and our current house is small. Now that we are moving to a larger house, I'd like to get their wooden refrigerator to go with it. I think my girls will like it a lot.

We have the IKEA play kitchen. It’s compact and is fine for my LO. I would probably get a bigger one with additional surface area if you know your LO will really enjoy it and want to stock up on accessories.

I have the PB Kids Retro Kitchen, the 3 separate pieces. I highly recommend it if you can get a deal.
I purchased mine as a Christmas gift for DD1 at 18 mos...I ended up getting all three pieces on sale from the outlets, so I'd guess I paid $300ish if my memory serves.
Its large, which has been nice for growing with DD (4.5 now) and very durable/sturdy.
I will say it took a decent amount of assembly.

We hacked an Ikea one and it works great. I love the small footprint. We also keep a little Ikea table and chairs next to it for pretend eating and crafts and whatever else...

We have the hape one as wel and we love it. It is adorable, not plastic, not huge and SO durable. My daughter uses it as a ledge to climb up onto the windowsill. It’s been in heavy use for 2 years and still looks like new.

@crazydoglady: @DesertDreams88: we have the same one. I actually saw it suggested on the boards two years ago when I was buying dd’s Christmas present.

We also have a Hape kitchen and haven’t had any issues with it. It is in great condition after 3 years. Now that DS is walking around, he is starting to enjoy playing with it which has helped rekindle DD’s interest in it.
