Math. If I had to take the SATs now that there is an essay section my scores wouldn't have been nearly as impressive!!

Haha I got a 780 in math. Verbal score was lower.

Verbal, but only by ten points.
Eight years later I took the GMAT and got all of the verbal questions right, but only half of the math. Whoops.

@oliviaoblivia: when I took the LSAT, I did ridiculously well on the logic sections. *scratches head* But thank jeebus I did!

@MsLipGloss: @SleepyMonkey: Wow perfect scores! Go you two! ^_^
I did way better in math.
My Bf in high school got a perfect score in verbal and missed 20 points in math which got him a 1580, which was a pretty awesome score in the day. I'm attracted to smart guys.

@MsLipGloss: omg look who's talking! Would have killed to get an 800 in verbal!

You know there are 3 sections now? Writing too. I scored 60 points higher on verbal so I think writing would have worked well for me!

I did well in math, but awful in verbal. I took it a second time, and I did worse after taking a prep class!

Scored WAY higher in verbal.
I was actually part of the Duke University talent search and I took the SATs in 7th grade. I scored like 600-something. I never took them again to see how I would have done though, I took the ACTs for college placement.

Verbal. I honestly don't remember my scores, but I know I scored in the 95th percentile for verbal and um, in the 55th percentile for math. Ouch.

I got perfect in math. I know I got a 1280, but I can't remember the breakdown of points.

@chopsuey119: math is my kryptonite. I have always wanted to be a math girl. thank goodness I had/have boobs to attract DH!

So many smarty pants on here!! I did 20 points higher in math, so pretty even.
@zippylef: I took them in 7th grade too. I can't remember how I did, but now I really wonder what was the point?

@chopsuey119: me too! Funny thing is, I did SAT tutoring and they had me do verbal only! Weird.

@Foodnerd81: @zippylef: i took them in 7th grade too, but it was a program run by Johns Hopkins University. If you scored high enough, you got to go to a summer camp and take college level courses. Yeah. I know it doesn't sound fun at all, but it was. Except for the classes part.

I took the ACT - there were a few different sections: reading, language arts, science, math and essay.
I scored 9/12 on essay and much, much higher in reading and language arts than math. And pretty average in science.

Definitely verbal! I believe was 780 verbal and 680 math. I've always hated math, haha. I ended up doing better on the math section of the GRE, though, oddly enough.

I think it was pretty even, but verbal was up higher. Total was 1480, don't remember the breakdown!

Math, I got a perfect score. Walking out of the test, I thought my verbal score would be higher than math!

I scored ever so slightly higher on the verbal section. Funny b/c I have a Ph.D. in physics, and I am most definitely a math person.

@mrbee: i had completely forgotten about that! ahhh! i went to lancaster for 2 years and had so much fun, but felt really really stupid compared to all the other kids there.

@SleepyMonkey: I was also at F&M... and also felt stupid!

@skibobrown: The guy I dated before DH is probably the smartest math guy I know and got his PhD in a math related field but his SATs def did not reflect his great math mind. He did well enough but must have just over thought every question.
I did better on math than verbal but luckily didn't suck at verbal quite as much as I thought I would. When I took them in 7th grade I got a wow, you're great score in math and a do you speak english score on verbal so I think that scared me enough to do some verbal practice questions before the actual test.

@Maysprout: I don't think I over thought, but I tend to make stupid mistakes on problems that are supposed to be easy. I needed to remind myself to slow down and really read the questions. My dad was one of those people who scored brilliantly on the math, but was questioned as to his understanding of the English language too! (He also received his Ph.D. in math, but he was a fabulous teacher, so I guess his understanding of English couldn't have been all that bad.)

smart peeps here! math better, but overall score could have been better. I am not a good test taker.
