I usually eat the black side first and save the white side for the end. Yum, I want a black and white cookie now.

Ahhhh B&W cookies are my fave! We gave them out in welcome bags for our wedding. I voted black first but really I'd eat them in any order

I eat them from the middle, lol. I make sure to equally eat from both chocolate and vanilla side. Man, I miss black and whites. The ones with real soft frosting, not just that hardened frosting-like stuff.

nom nom nom. I miss these. You can't get these often in Texas and if you do, they aren't as good as NY ones.

@LovelyPlum: you made them? Fancy! I'd probably eat them all if I made some.

My first bite is usually a little bit of both, but I always save the white for last. I feel like we're in an episode of Seinfeld - "look to the cookie!"

I save the chocolate for last since it's the best side!

Middle. We have a great deli (Chompies, it was on Man vs. Food) here that makes them (considering we're in AZ, not NY)

I've never had one of these, only seen them in delis, and now I'm curious!

@swedishfish: I've never tried one. They look so elegant. I imagine they are just sugar cookies with frosting. How do they taste?

Wow I'm surprised at how many people have never had/heard of b&w cookies! I guess I just take them for granted since I grew up with them and you can find them virtually everywhere in NY. But taste/quality certainly runs the gamut depending on where you get them.

@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: a good one is different than a sugar cookie. It's more cake like. Yum! I feel like I should send one to everyone who's never tried one. My local bakery makes awesome ones.

I've only had them in NYC since you don't find them often in the south. I eat them down the middle.
