My 4.5 month old is teething already and although she has very bumpy gums all over, the only white spot I can find actually looks like it's her top right cuspid or lateral incisor. The fact that she's already sprouting teeth (my first LO didn't get a tooth until almost a year), and that it's not either her two bottom or two top teeth has thrown me for a loop!
Anyone else's LO get a first tooth that was not one of the front bottom or top teeth?

LO's first tooth was an upper canine tooth -- we called her vampire baby! (Didnt come in until 10 months, though)

I thought B was going to get a top tooth first. He started showing teething signs around 4 months and I was convinced I saw where a top tooth was coming in! But then it sort of died down and the bump seemed to recede. He didn't have a tooth really erupt until close to 9 months and t was a bottom tooth after all!

@PrincessBaby: My friend thought the same thing but it turned out to be a canker sore or irritation on her upper gum and her baby ended up getting the bottom front two teeth first. Just a possibility!

Mine got her bottom front two first, and now top two, so pretty "normal".

DD2 got her bottom two at 5 months. DD1 had just one bottom tooth from 7-9 months.

Both of mine gotten their bottom middle teeth first.
It may not be a tooth coming out yet. I saw the same for DS2 and it was something else (forgot what it was called). His 1st tooth didn't actually come out until almost 9 months.

DS got is top right lateral incisor first! Followed by two bottom, then top, then they just came all at once it seemed afterwards. lol

@yellowbird: I googled this bc I had never heard of it and it says it's only in newborns...Do you think it's a possibility at 4.5 months?
Now I wish I was with her to look closer- I'm worried now!
At her 4 month well check, the Ped said she would be an early teether. My husband brought her, so I didn't get a lot of details lol, but I've been on the lookout since he said that...

@PrincessBaby: could also be called a bohns nodule, dental pearl, etc. it's all basically the same thing and it can definitely show up later and will dissapear. All are harmless. My daughter had two right around where her bottom canines would be but sure enough, she got her bottom two centrals first and her canines didn't come until she was well over a year, maybe almost 2?

@PrincessBaby: DS2 had it at his 4 month check up. I thought he was teething already. I don't remember her saying Epstein pearl. She said it was like a calcium deposit (I think) and totally harmless. It went away!

T's were bulging near her upper canines at 4 mo, but that calmed down. Her bottom two are coming thru at six months.
