I have always bought hass avocados, they get dark (almost black) when right and have bumpy skin, but DH convinced me to try the the other kind that originates from florida it has smooth green skin. Well I can honestly say I dont like it much, the hass avocado has much more taste and flavor and is more creamy.
Which do you prefer

I only buy Hass just because I haven't seen the Florida ones...Of, if I have seen them, I didn't know they were different.

I love Hass!! I'll buy the other kind if there are no Hass avocados available but it's just not the same.

I can only find Hass avocados at the store. I did try to buy some Hawaiian avocados while on vacation, but I didn't have much luck. They were all very hard and didn't ripen in time before our departure.

@yoursilverlining: Haha yeah I didnt like it much , it seemed watered down but apparently it has much less fat so its healthier... But I wont be buying it again.
@runnerd: Haha yeah the hass gets dark almost black when ripe and the other kinds usually stay looking very green and smooth skinned

Definitely Haas. We eat so many avocados it's not even funny. I miss living in Ecuador where GIANT haas avocados were only 20 cents apiece. Sometimes I think we need to put a special avocado allowance in our budget, ha!

I think I only ever see Hass. Although I saw some crazy big avocados in Hawaii. Like, the size of my head. No clue what kind they were!

When I was in Cali I had mini hass avocados I think. They were the size of eggs with the bumpy dark green skin. Omg so good!
