Our faux wood blind (free!) samples came today.
Would you do white or a wood grain to resemble the flooring?
White is more contemporary but our windows and trim are white so I'm not loving the white on white.
Here's a pic, what do you think? The flooring and blind is a warm reddish "oak". Thanks!
Sorry for the horrible lighting.
Eventually I will be putting sheer curtains over these.

I like the oak, that's the kind we have in our living/dining room area and it looks really nice.

I would go with white. But I'm just partial to white because our whole house is white and gray.

Oak ones were in when we moved in and omgggg they show dust in the light so badly. I like white:)

i'm matchy, so i'd say white...if you had natural trim, i'd go with oak.

@scg00387: oh really?? What color do you have now? That was another reason I wasn't liking the white as much bc I'm afraid they'll show dirt & dust more.

@regberadaisy: I think its the contrast of light dust on the darker wood.. We actually have nothing on half the windows- big trees that block the neighbors! I'm going to hang curtains eventually though. Maybe leave each sample on the sill for a week and compare dust residue??

We have dark floors and white trim with wood colored bamboo blinds. I love it!

I would choose oak only because I don't like it all white. What about a different color? We did ours in brick red and love the pop of color since everything else is neutral.

I like the white because it makes the rooms look bigger when everything blends.

The oak is beautiful, but I would match the window trim, baseboards and door moldings.

I like the white better...there were wood colored blinds all over the house when we moved in and we're slowly replacing them with white blinds! Like other posters said it shows the dust like crazy. (The photo is a lot warmer/yellow than IRL.)
