I've been Googling how to remove white rings from wood. I've seen to use full fat mayo and also to use a steam iron.
I'm worried about further damaging our tables though.
Anyone have personal experience with this?

I don't have any first hand experience, but I would try whatever treatment in a small, less obvious area first before doing it all over the table.

Good question. I've heard the mayo thing but haven't tried. I also heard about coconut oil.

IDK about rings, but I use the Method wood cleaner on our wood and haven't had any issues.

I've used the mayo and can confirm that it really does work and doesn't damage the wood!

This is great! I would have replied that you probably need to refinish the entire piece. I need to try mayo!

@Mrs. Polish: we redid an old rocking horse that was all scratched and dinged up and the mayo trick worked on that too! Good luck!

i JUST tried mayo, based on this thread. it made the white ring better, but didn't get rid of it completely. i saw that you can use lemon oil with a very fine-grade steel wool pad and minimal pressue to try to get the moisture out (that's what causes the white marks), but that makes me nervous.

@Mrs. Polish: mayo and the iron doesn't work on my table. I have been using these for years. Works great!
