One of the downsides of bottlefeeding is the huge number of bottles that you have to wash! We usually use the dishwasher, but sometimes that's too much of a hassle so they have to be handwashed.

Mostly I do ;-/ !!
However, if I ask.. he does do them but I mostly need to ask.

DH does them when I cook (usually), but he also leaves them in the sink and I can't stand going to bed with a sink full of dirty dishes, so I end up doing them... He'll always do them when I ask him to, of course.

I usually do the dishes. I'm a sahm so it just makes sense. But I hate bottle washing so we rotate every other night. Whoever isn't putting the baby to bed is washing bottles.

I do the dishes 95% of the time. We have a dishwasher but I prefer not to use it. And not as many bottles with this baby... Maybe just a few a week.

Hubs usually does the dishes because I cook. I would assume he will continue to handle the washing once a LO arrives. I think that's fair if I'm handling the breastfeeding : )

We both do. I'll do pots and pans and he'll do plates, cups, silverware, etc. He will do pots and pans if I ask him to or if there is a particularly caked-on item that my elbow grease isn't getting.

I do the dishes! I really don't mind it and DH cooks, so it works for us.

I do the dishes here. Originally I was the bathroom cleaner and he was the dishwasher and that worked for a while. But for the past six months my husband has been working so much more than usual so I've started doing the dishes now.

Mr. Marbles does the dishes 99% of the time. We also have a lot of bottles and we still sterilize them in hot water by hand, so it's a chore.

@Mrs. Marbles: Do you guys have a steam sterilizer? It can be a big time saver!

@highwire: We do the same thing. I hate loading the dishwasher. Though when my husband loads it, he doesn't pre clean the dishes. Our dishwasher isn't powerful enough to kick off the gunk. Sometimes, I pre-rinse when he's not looking.

meeeee... I do all the dishes in the house. When we had to clean bottles and pump parts, I had a system with large bowls and paper towels and I washed them all in the upstairs bathroom, so I never had to bring them downstairs to the kitchen. Every couple of weeks or so, Rob Sr. woulds sterilize everything in the microwave.

I do, Im a SAHM so I do the cooking, cleaning and such. He works long hard hours so I don't mind not to mention hes only home on the weekends most of the time.

My DH does the dishes
He's very territorial about this task and if I try to do it, he'll usually reclean something I handwashed or reorganize the dishwasher. It's fine with me, lol!!
I do the cooking and grocery shopping though, so in his mind he's getting the better end of the deal. Let's keep the truth from him, okay??

I wash the dishes and I HATE it!!! My least favorite chore.

I do the dishes about 70% of the time and we use the dishwasher about once per week too so it is manageable.

I wash the dishes, bottles, and pump parts about 95% of the time. My hands get so dry and cracked because of the nonstop washing throughout the day.

We use to have a deal.. he cooks and I do the dishes or the other way around. But lately I've been noticing that now I do the dishes no matter what... I guess thats ok since I get to stay home with munchkin all day.

@mrbee: No we don't! But I'm going to look into now. It's only because I feel bad for Mr. Marbles.

the dishwasher (the machine, not my cleaning lady - she just puts them in the dishwasher) does most of the washing. but i do some too.

DH almost always does the dishes because I always cook. And he ALWAYS washes our nice pots and pans because he thinks I don't wash them well enough LOL! We never officially decided that he would be the dishwasher in the household, but I do love him for it!!! I hate dishes.
hostess / watermelon / 14932 posts
we do not have a dishwasher - I am the dishwasher!
DH tries to be helpful and do the dishes. If I'm cranky, I'll call it out but I try to be nice - because generally I have to rewash them ALL. hahah! poor guy. he just doesn't really scrub.

I handwash everything. But it's only because I'm home all day long. If I'm tired, the hubs will just do them.
