@junebugmama: You know my story, and why I had a likely avoidable transfer.
ETA: For those who haven't read it though, here is my story:

I had a home birth with my first and am planning to have another. I went into labor at 2am. Spent the night in bed, but wasn't really able to sleep. Around 5am we called the midwife and I got in the shower which was very nice. My midwife said it sounded like the early stages and to check in again at 10am unless something changed. I was in total denial that I was in labor and thought it was still false labor at that point. I spent the majority of the morning walking around inside and outside of my house and leaning on whatever was near during a contraction. Around 9am I told my husband that I kinda felt pressure (I was still in denial that I was in labor) and that triggered him to call the midwife again. The midwife sent over her assistant to "just check." She checked me and I was 8cm (They didn't actually tell me this until after though). I asked her if she was sure I was going to have the baby today (still in denial!). She said I would and called the main midwife in. By that time I was in the birth pool and nearly ready to push. My DS was born on the bed at 1pm with no complications or tearing at all into my husbands arms with the help of my midwife. It was the most amazing perfect experience of my life. We got cleaned up and curled up in bed to rest all together. I hope for a similar delivery this time!

We are still in the TTC stage but are seriously considering a homebirth whenever that time comes. Would love to hear more stories!

@Beyond2: This sounds like it was such a perfect birth experience!
I had a really easy, complication free, med free birth in a hospital. I would love to try for a home birth for any future LOs.

I am not having a home birth but am planning a med-free hospital birth in a birth center. I'm excited to read the stories shared here, because I hope to have a home birth with my next child (currently, home birth midwifery is not legal in my state, but we are working to legalize it).
