My dad was a softie so my mom was the bad cop!

Same here, mom was always the bad cop. However, I remember a couple times in HS that my dad was in charge of the punishment (grounding me) and he always gave in and let me leave since I would just annoy him until he couldn't stand it! haha
OH and when he found beer in my car in HS he threatened to make me pour it in my cereal and eat it, but I never had too!

My mom, my dad worked 2nd shift, so my mom was pretty much a single parent at night! hahah

Both, but they used much different tactics. My momw ould scream, yell, and ground me. My dad would give me this huge lecture about how much I disappointed him - that was way worse!

My mom and dad were together until I was about 5--dad handled more of the discipline when they were together. After they split my mom was in charge all the way.

My dad, typically, but my mom would pull the, "i'm so disappointed in you...." card, and i HATED it. It was 10x worse than time out or a spanking!

From what I recall, it was pretty even-handed. I think that was because my mom traveled a lot, so when she was out of town, Dad had no choice but to be the disciplinarian, and when she was home, he left it to her.

My mom kept a wooden spoon under the driver seat of her van and would pull over on the side of the road and spank us. My dad would spank as at home with his hand, a belt,, or a switch (if we were really bad).
when I was older, my mom was the one who would ground me. My dad would fill garbage bags up with my stuff and make me do chores to get it back.

Both! My mom would give us the immediate punishment, and then my dad (depending on the severity of the *crime* so to speak) would supplement my mom's initial punishment and dole out the rest of the *sentence*.

I always thought I'd be the good cop.... but since I'm home with LO all day I don't have much of a choice unless I want her to be a spoiled brat.
