When it comes to parenting your LO's, who is more strict, you or your SO?
As far as rules, giving in, things like that. I think I am more strict than DH is, he tends to give in more than I do when it comes to rules, his guilt sets in and he has a harder time putting his foot down. I, on the other hand, feel like since I am home with them all day, every day, I need to stay grounded with rules and not let myself become a pushover. I'll admit, I do let them get away with things at times, which is more of a "choosing my battles" thing. Consistency with rules helps our day go smoother (um, mostly)...so I try and remind myself that when I want to give in just to stop the battle!
For example, with our bedtime routine for LO1 we go in her bed, read a few books and play with her Shopkins or stuffed animals for about 10 minutes and then I say goodnight and go out. DH tends to linger because she wants him to stay in there. This is around 8:30/9:00 at night and sometimes I am just so done with the day I need my space. I am firm when it comes to bedtime but DH is pretty relaxed about it. I think it's harder for him to get out of there and say goodnight than it is for me, but he also doesn't see her as much so it works for now.
But its good because I'm a softie and don't like to discipline!
