This year we both went ToTing with our daughter. I like that - I think it's nice that we can both go. I wouldn't mind staying home to see all the cute ToTers, though.
Do you or your spouse stay at home to give out candy while your child goes ToTing?

We both went, we don't get a lot of TOTers down our road though.

We all go and just leave a bowl of candy out. Our street is pretty quiet so there isn't any worry of someone taking the whole bowl .

We both go out...we don't get kids at our house because we're in a townhouse surrounded by condo towers with a busy street separating us from the streets with houses. It used to make me sad but now it's nice to be able to go out together.

My parents and siblings (who don't have kids yet) come to visit on Halloween. They answer the door while DH, the kids and I do a little TOTing and then we all have dinner together.
Halloween is also my birthday so it's a good excuse for a get together.

I stayed home this year, usually we both go and one of my parents offers to take care of our door. I am 30w preggo and mobility not the best by end of day, I loved getting to stay home and see everyone who came by!

@winniebee: we did so well with the little kids taking just one candy out of our bowl last night. Then 6 older sh*ts (I had seen them earlier) came by and left 2 pieces. There had to have been 75 pieces of candy in there when they got to the house. I had just refilled it as we walked past our house.
Never leaving a bowl out again.

@mediagirl: that happened to us too so we wont leave out a bowl anymore

We both went...we only did a few houses on our street so we weren't gone too long. Then we handed out candy when we got back. Neither of us wanted to miss the fun of walking around with them

My DH passed candy and I took the kids. Leaving the bowl doesn't work on our street either . I saw many empty bowls and it was sad.

We both went because LO2 is still little (aka wants to be held and not happy in the stroller for too long).

We both went out and left candy in the porch for the 30 mins we were gone.

DH passed out candy and I took the older two around. He could pretty much see is the whole time. I came home to switch but the baby woke up so I took care of her and they passed out candy together and never made it back out.

@winniebee: Same here! We both went and just left the candy outside. We only got 11 trick-or-treaters, so it's not a big deal. We pretty much saw all 11 of them while we were out and about with the kids.

We both went. We left a bowl of candy out for other TOTers.
Our town does specific TOT times. 3-5, and then 6-8. We went out 3-5, then handed out candy from 6-7 (when DS2 went to bed).

We both went! She is little so we really just made it down the block and came back to hang outside where we had candy out too!

Well, my son would rather stay home and pass out the candy, so we all stayed home!

This year I left the neighborhood party and came home and handed out candy. We have a small neighborhood so only like maybe 15 kids. I did leave the bowl out beforehand for the kids that didn't come to the party and just went ToT. DH said that LO had a blast with her new friend she made.

We both went ToTing because our apartment doesn't get trick or treaters
We end up going to events around town since there isn't anywhere safe to walk near us.
I would love to stay home and hand out candy one year- maybe alternate with DH.

We both went because my sister in law came over to hand out candy for us. I wouldn't have minded staying home but it was really fun to go out and watch my little boy. I actually dressed up this year- very unlike me but I'm pregnant and I think this is going to be a fun baby because he/she inspired me to dress up.

Oh and we ran into some neighbors while we were out and just told them we'd be back in 10-15 and they waited to visit until we were home again.

We stayed home for the first 30 minutes and passed out candy, then we all went trick or treating. Once we fonish d, we sat outside and passed out more candy.
