@tororojo: lol My husband is legally blind (I mean he can see but can't drive type blind) so yep! My Dr. knew of our situation and I asked her and she said yes. I went and got the car while he waited with the baby at the entrance to the hospital lol We do things backwards...just how we roll

i was at 9 cm when they checked me 45 minutes after i arrived at the hospital.

DH drove both times.
But with DD1 the contractions were farther apart and ended up being a longer labour. (Wasn't in active labour till the following day so stayed at a friends cause we lived an hour from the hospital). Then he drove me to the hospital around 4cm dialted.
With DD2, DH drove me to the city (45min) to meet the midwife. Found out I was for sure in active labour and he drove me to the hospital. Going through transition sucked in the car! If the ride would have been longer I wouldn't of made it (we actually live 1 hr 45min from the hospital but happened to be closer that day). During the drive contractions went to every minute lasting 10sec. Got on the ward at 0600 was holding her at 6:26 (so just less then 1.5hrs in active labour)

For DS, my DH drove me and my mom to the first hospital and then we left there to come home, then he drove us to the hospital I delivered at.
For DD, my mom drove me because they wanted me to come in right away (emergency C-section, she came early) and DH had to watch DS until someone came to relieve him. He nearly missed the birth! If he had missed it, my mom would have been in the operating room with me.

DH, though we did have a minute or two of looking around for the keys.
