I has a c-section at a teaching hospital so there was a crowd. They did a roll call before they started and I'm pretty sure there were 12-15 people besides DH and me.

Hubby, my OB and 3 midwives - one was clocking off but decided to hang around as she had been with me through the labour, then one was clocking on, and the supervising midwife had popped in as I was near to giving birth.

1st time: DH, doula, hospital midwife, a nurse and other hospital staff totaling about 10 people. As soon as LO cried most of the people left the room.

LO2: DH, hospital midwife & two nurses.

DH, doula, OB and a couple nurses.

With LO1, DH and I and a bunch of people I don't remember. The OB, a med student or two and a few nurses.

With LO2, DH, a midwife and 1 nurse.

DD - me, DH, my mom, OB, a bunch of nurses and the NICU team. She was a little premature and I was pretty sick so it was a circus for sure!

DS - me, DH, my nurse and my OB. A totally different experience!

It would have just been me, DH, my midwife and nurse, but some minor complications meant there was a little more of a crowd.

There was meconium in my water so a pediatrician was there, and her heart rate was wonky so I had a vacuum assist with an OB. So it was at least me, DH, midwife, nurse (both of whom were done with their shifts but waited an extra half hour or so for me), OB, pediatrician in the background, and I feel like one or two others. Up until the last 45 minutes or so it was just the first four of us.

DH, 1-2 nurses, OB, resident. Then after they asked if a class (outside the room) could examine my just delivered placenta. Sure why not!

Besides DH, just my OB and two nurses. I think

My OB and 2 nurses the 1st time and my OB and 1 nurse the second time. There was supposed to be some more nurses and nicu staff the second time (meconium issue) but she flew out and was fine so it was just a few of us. We didn't have family there either time.

Ended up having a c-section so the people I know for sure about were: DH, anesthesiologist, OB, a retired plastic surgeon assisting (score!), my nurse that I had for the last part of labour and pushing and then after that, I couldn't tell you but there as a couple more people.

OB, nurses, NICU nurses and anesthesiologist. DH wasn't allowed in.

DH, Dr, Resident, 2 med students and a herd of interns. I think the anesthesiologist and a pediatric nurse were also there - but cant say for sure.

Thank god for the one med student who held my other leg and counted when DH completely forgot to.

They told us at our tour that they were a teaching hospital and there may be interns in based on the time of year I was having DD. Sure enough- there they were...looking like deer in headlights! Didnt get to see much as I had her our in 4 pushes...

I couldnt have cared less who was in the room...non of that mattered at that moment.

Hubs, nurse, OB, and OB resident. The OB resident was phenomenal. Super supportive and encouraging.

DH, OB, nurses and a pediatric team - they knew J needed some extra care on the way out (he had a collapsed lung).

Only DH, the OB resident, and a nurse. Little bit of panic, but it all turned out fine. (I found out later it was the resident's first day...)

Just DH, nurses, and doctor both times. I loved the intimacy of the experience.

My husband, 2 midwives, and a gajillion nurses and nicu doctors. DH said he counted at one point and there were 19 people in the room. I was only aware of maybe 4. DH, midwife who was right up in my face (in a good way; she was super encouraging), nurse who kept moving the monitors when I moved, and nurse holding my leg up for me.
