My parents or my inlaws

She goes to my Inlaws!

My parents or my MIL. Thankfully they love doing it the few times a year we ask! They all live across the country so it is extra special for them to spend lots of QT with LO.

I'm embarrassed to say that we have never been away from LO for more than a night at a time together On those two occasions, my in-laws watched our son. I'm not sure what we would do if we went away for a week as our parents all still work for the time being and do not live locally.

We are thinking of flying my parents in in a couple of months so that we can go away for a week together. My inlaws only live 2 hours away, but they are not ideal caretakers for several reasons. We don't even leave LO with them to run to the store.

My mom is the only one who does overnights.

We also have a sitter (a teacher from daycare) who we split the time with if its a longer trip or not a weekend that works for my mom. We pay her $100 a night...so it helps if we can get a few nights free to balance out a 4 or 5 night trip.
