My FIL usually watches our dog but I think I need to board him in the future. FIL has 4 well behaved dogs and our dog always stirs up the pot and starts a bunch of fights. Our pup isn't properly socialized around other dogs!

Usually my mom & dad. This weekend, my in-laws. We have boarded her before and it was okay.

My parents or one of my sisters watches him. He's a big lazy baby so he doesn't do much besides sleep and cuddle when we leave.

We're going away in a week for 8 days, the longest we've left our cat. My BFF will come by a few times while we're away to change his water & give him more water. I bought new toys for her to give him each time & hid them in the cabinet so he doesn't break into them early : ) I may cry when we have to say goodbye to him, haha.

Either my BIL or neighbor. If they can't then they go to the boarders. They love to be boarded though. The people that take care of them are really nice and are super sweet to our dogs. Jax is always happy to see them.

We board our pup or pay a girl in my office to stay at our house and take care of him. He's really good but a bit rambunctious so I feel bad leaving him with friends who all have their own pups and we have no family near by.

We're lucky that my parents and DH's grandparents don't mind watching our dog. It helps a lot to have two different sets of people to ask. We go away a lot, but we've only had to board our dog twice so far.

We have made 2 friends who each also have greyhounds. So we usually try to leave ours with on of them, and they also do the same when they go on vacay. We are dog sitting one of their greyhounds right now!

We typically use a dog walking service. We arrange for a certain amount of walks per day and pay by the walk. It's easier on our dog than going someplace for boarding- he seems less stressed and doesn't get the tummy issues he would being boarded.

We usually take her with us. If we are going some place that doesn't allow pets, we board her at our vet's office. They love her there.

Either my mom or inlaws, depending on if we're vacationing with either of them. If its a grandparent free vacation my mom will take him, she and my dog love love love each other the most so I know its less of a burden on her and more fun for her to have him.

A friend of ours comes over to feed our cats when we're away. He is a saint--we've tried to pay him in the past and he won't take our money.

we have a cat and always get a cat sitter. last time we used a college kid. he came twice a day for an hour each time and played with her because she can get anorexic when she's depressed.

We don't have any family nearby, so we usually board our dog. I try to find a place that has boarding and a doggie daycare so that he gets lots of attention and spends most of the day out of a crate.

My mom use to watch my dog but when we got our second dog it just wasn't going to work out anymore. She already has two big dogs who are a handful as it is.
We have found a kennel that the dogs LOVE! One month we had to board them 4 times. The next few weeks after that they kept getting excited when we would leave cause they thought they were going there. Kinda made me sad but it's good to know they enjoy going there.

My FIL used to watch our dog, but the last time he did, the dog came home covered in fleas (and yes, he's on flea prevention). FIL doesn't have dogs, so we think they are in his carpet from SIL's dogs. Needless to say, our dog won't be going there until he gets his house treated.

Inlaws, friends or a coworker watch our dog but we have boarded her at the groomer/daycare we use and it's worked out just fine.

@Mrs. Bee: one of my sister has two cats and they use a pet sitter. We were making fun of them at thanksgiving dinner for having a pet sitter, but it's a good thing they use that company----her cat was stuck behind the washer.

Our dogs love going to the kennel! The people there are great and they seem to really love our dogs. Even though it's affordably priced compared to other kennels, it still gets expensive for long trips. But it's worth it for the peace of mind, knowing they are well cared for and happy. Plus, I don't have to feel guilty about a friend or family member having to take care of my one, super high-maintenance yorkie, haha! They might reconsider our friendship after a week with him

My mom, although when we went on vacation with my mom we borded them. They seemed to like that and the doggie daycare it came with.
