So we are getting our pre-approval and are talking to a couple brokers that we are acquaintances of. Both are pretty good, but am having a hard time choosing which to go with. Also note that both brokers do not have a buyer fee in the closing cost.
Broker #1: She is a client of DH's. DH knows her fairly well, runs her own independent office. DH likes her a lot, so I feel like we could trust her and she would be good to us during this process. But, overall she is just a normal broker. I also do not know if she is knowledgeable about the area we are looking to buy in.
Broker #2: DH met him briefly through work as well. The broker isn't an actual client, the broker overhead DH at work talking about buying a house and gave him his business card. This broker owns three real estate offices in the exact towns we are looking to buy in. He seems really knowledgeable and I think would be able to let us see houses before they hit the market. My concern with him is that we would get passed off to one of the other broker associates. We are currently talking directly with him.
Thoughts? I like the idea of going with someone I would trust, since we are talking about a lot of money. But, we live in a really hot real estate market and having someone who is familiar with the market we are looking to buy in is a good thing too.
