Dh was born and raised here so I moved here to be with him.... He's tied down to the area because of his jobs and my job can go anywhere.

We thought it would be fun to move abroad for an adventure before we settled down, so quit our jobs, packed two bags each and boarded a plane. Four years later and we're married with our little Canadian baby. I do think we'll move back to the UK though, we miss our families.

I originally came to the area for school, then met DH who grew up here. Eventually we decided to move a little further out to get away from his family!

We moved here because we got an unreal deal on the house and land. House needed a lot of fixing but its almost finished now. Its a long commute for both of us but its worth the peace and quiet. It is still relatively close to family.

Med school for DH!
We do really like this area and there are a lot of great things about our town. LO goes to a great daycare and I have a solid flexible job with very supportive coworkers/friends. DH is a 4th year, though, which means he is applying for residency now and we will find out in March where we are headed for the next 3 years. There are pros and cons to staying vs. moving to the unknown...we'll see what happens.

@littlek: @autumnlove: I never had a chance against DH . . . it was a done deal for me and I knew it, even if I didn't want to admit it!

My DH and I moved for a job opportunity for me. We both had crappy jobs in the town we loved and it was too saturated for me to find something else.
We won't stay in our current location forever. I'm considering applying for a specialty program in my field in the next few years and we'd have to move out of state.

@MsLipGloss: to sweet!
I moved here after college cause I wanted a warmer climate but mostly cause my family was all here. DH moved here for college.

We moved here when my husband took a better job at a consulting firm. My job barely paid anything, so it was a no-brainer. Now we both have great jobs and love the city we are it. It has a small town vibe.

It's my hometown. Then I met DH and he already had a good job here, so I came back after college and found a job. Also, all of our family is nearby.

We'll likely always live here (or within 15 minutes of here) because we own multiple properties here we will need to manage. We'll never move farther than 30 minutes away (at least not for the next 30 years or so) because our business is here too.

I moved here for my job. Hubby moved up here to be with me! We both have jobs here now.

I grew up here and moved back after a decade of living in other places. I don't think it is a permanent move for us, but it'll do for the next couple years. Long-term we'll probably move back to South America.

Hubs and I were living in MD where it got too expensive to buy a house (2005 - hello, boom). Whoever found a job first in VA, PA or NC wins. I won. He moved down 6 months later. Found a job 6 months after that. That was stressful!!
In our current house because it was a great deal. Big yard, big house, reasonable house price for those things.
