Anyone else hate that most sleepers SNAP up rather than zip up? Ugh, it's such a pain to get jammies on my son now. Why can't they all zip up? Is it just me?

I hear you. I was just looking through my 9 month sleepers (all hand me downs) and they're allllll snap ones!! Uggghhhh.

DH hates those too! He somehow always messes up when trying to put them on then starts ranting about how they should all have zippers. I do find them mildly annoying but not to the same extent (unless it's the middle of the night).

I hate those! I only use zipper sleepers now...Hanna Andersson, Gap, Kirkland, and Carter's!

I HATE the snap sleepers! I can never get them snapped right the first time and somehow always end up with an extra snap with nothing to snap it to!

I prefer the snaps! I like that they keep LO warmer during diaper changes.

YES I can't snap them correctly especially since my son (6.5 months) flips and twists and kicks like crazy during diaper changes.....

@mediagirl: I was just on Carters website looking for 9 month sleepers (we only have 1 so far) and they are all snaps, except 2. Ugh!

@winniebee: @mediagirl: She's wearing 12m bow, and in Carters, they all seem to be zip up, thankfully! They are only the fleece ones though.
I much prefer zip, also because there are gaps between the snaps!

@bpcmarj: Your long lady! Tyler is just about ready to go to 9 months (lengthwise). He's got no chubb!

I kind of like that with the snaps I don't have to totally expose her body her change a diaper.
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@MamaMoose: Hm, see he always wears a onesie underneath so I don't worry about exposing him!

I like the snaps! Because I can just unsnap the bottom for diaper changes and because the top of the sleeper will bulk up where the zipper is and rubs LO's face.

I prefer the snaps, I can just unsnap thebottom when I want to change her diaper.

I like them!! I think they're cuter, and as long as I give lo a toy to play with its not that big of a hassle to snap them on.
I actually don't like zippers potentially poking him, I'm paranoid about that!
blogger / wonderful cherry / 21616 posts
@bpcmarj: I think the same happens to zippers- they kind of bunch or curve in weird places!

I like the snaps, the zippered ones ride up and make a huge bump in front of my LO's fce if the sleeper is even a little too big. Snaps are so much more forgiving.

I know!! I don't think they were designed by mothers because everyone knows how ANNOYING they are to snap... especially on a squirmy, tired and frustrated baby.

I'm torn, zippers are much easier to deal with, but snaps are better for diaper changes.

I hear ya, I hate snaps! They are very hard to work with when the baby has cha-cha legs that won't quit

I like snaps! I find it's easier to do a diaper change at night with snaps because I don't have to mess around with a zipper near her face. She's more likely to stay asleep(ish).

I like the ease of zippers, but I hate it when the sleeper is just a little big and bunches up. I call it a "zipper boner" (yes I have the maturity of a 12 year old..!)

@Pink Champagne: haha I totally know what you are talking about
I can't stand snaps, especially during cranky middle of the night diaper changes. Right now I'm loving Kirkland's organic cotton zipper sleepers.

@winniebee I thought of you last night after M's first wake-up. She was wet so I had to change her and all I had were snap sleepers. She was sleepy and kept rolling over, I was struggling because it was dark in the room. Gah! A zipper would have made that process so much faster!

We only had snap ones for the longest time and when someone got us our first zip we thought it was some kind of genius invention. Like, wow, look how easy this is!
pear / 1554 posts
I really like the snaps better because its easier to change her diaper at night without waking her up. With the zipper, you have to pull her leg out from the nonzipper side and that always wakes her up.

Snaps are by far the dumbest baby related thing I've experienced. We have a whole drawer of snap sleepers that I refuse to use. I've found that The Children's Place has sleepers with zippers so that's usually where I buy ours.

I hate the zippers when they're wiggly because my girls would just stiffen their legs and I'd be afraid of injuring them by forcing the leg into the non zipper side.
And that's why they move to real pj's at 1T in my house.

HATE snaps....I never realized it before she was born (obviously) so I just bought what was cute, now if it doesn't have a zipper I don't buy it! She does have some with snaps she wears because she has them and I want to get use out of them, but boy at 4:30am when her diaper is soaked and I have no choice but to change her, it's a pain!
pineapple / 12526 posts
I love snaps because then I only have to unsnap the bottom. C's in 12m sleepers now because she's so tall, so most are zip now.
cherry / 216 posts
I prefer snaps. It's harder to get my wriggling son's leg into the non zipper side.
hostess / watermelon / 14932 posts
haha I love both! snaps are easier to change her without waking her, I agree with the PP that commented on having to get their leg out of the pajamas with zippers. zippers are easier to finish the whole job, though.
apricot / 468 posts
I like snaps for the most part! Only because the zippers curl, I'm always afraid I'm going to catch her skin in the zipper somehow and also, I don't like the zipper by her face!
I have an Idea!!!
Why don't they make zipper sleepers like sleep sacks where it zips from the bottom?!! Duh!
