I know on WeddingBee, if it got catty, they'd close a thread... but on HB, why would a topic get closed?

i've seen some closed when things have gotten way off topic or if people seem to being getting heated (which almost never happens! hb for that!) or if there is a duplicate thread and they want ppl to post on the same one rather than having 3 of the same post. you can also ask for a thread to be closed if you started a thread but would like to end the discussion.

It's usually by request of the author, for whatever reason. Generally if the author is offended or things started to get heated when that wasn't the intent. I know Mr. Bee closed a thread recently that turned from an innocent playful question into a heated debate and that wasn't the purpose of the thread.
