I am getting my hair did and sitting under the highlight-heater thing and the lady next to me, like 4 inches away, REEKS of "I had Mexican food for lunch. In a restaurant. And we stayed for a really long time.". You know that smell? Kind of like BO mixed with refried beans?
What causes this? Does it gross you out? I'm thoroughly grossed out bc she keeps breathing my way!

I've always thought it was the onions. Especially in things like fajitas. Even if you aren't eating fajitas, if someone around you is, you're toast!

I actually can't enjoy or eat Mexican because of whatever "spice" that is! Growing up we called it armpit food! lol

I've never noticed this with Mexican food. But I always feel like I stink when I leave Starbucks after sitting for awhile.

I think it depends on what the restaurant is and what they ate. I've noticed it on other people before, but not everyone. And definitely not from every restaurant. If that makes sense LOL

yep! I know exactly what you mean - there's this fantastic Mexican place here, best margaritas ever, and my friends and I talk about having to wear our "Border Cafe clothes" because Border + dry clean only coats doesn't work out so well.. haha

i've never noticed this about mexican food, but i feel this exact way about subway. i have never understood the appeal because it smells like straight up BO to me in there!

@mintmercury: YES! Subway restaurants always smell like someone hasn't showered. I don't understand why, it's just bread and deli meats.
I've noticed that sometimes with Mexican food. Onions are a big one, but I feel like the spices stick around too. Indian food does the same thing.

YES! My husband works in a mexican restuarant, so lucky me gets to smell it every.single.day when he gets home, it isn't a pleasant smell.
