Today is my first day of mat leave! I'm so excited and can't wait to get some rest before baby gets here. I just hope she's punctual because I don't need 4 weeks of resting... I'm 38w2d
Any suggestions for what I should do/enjoy while I can???

No suggestions, just do what you love and enjoy some lazy time and being off the clock so to speak!

Congrats!!! That's very exciting =)
No real suggestions, you could make some of your favorite meals and freeze them so when LO comes you and DH can pop it in the oven with no dishes!! I hope you enjoy yourself and get some rest!!

Hooray, enjoy!!!!!
I'm getting close to going on leave, too! I think i will work til Tuesday (40w 3d), but I'm working from home, so it's not the same
Do you have any crafts to work on? I would totally find something to make for the baby! And clean! And maybe make some freezer meals! Take your dog and your book to the park and read!

congratulations! so exciting! i'd do something spontaneous like catching a movie (if you're not opposed to going alone!), go out to a nice dinner with DH, something like that. how about a pedicure or a hair cut? i was really glad i got both of those things done before DS came!

Congrats! Enjoy the time- I'm sitting at my desk totally jealous. Will be working until the baby makes his/her arrival (or until I just can't drag myself here anymore)- but my productivity is way down!
Edited to add: if it was me, I would take a nice long walk, followed by a nice long bath with a good book, and then take myself out for a tea & a treat

Go to a movie! I cannot wait until LO is old enough to go to a movie, I miss them! And even then I'll be stuck watching kiddo movies.

@sslm: Yay for you! I will be done work as of 4 p.m. today and I'm finding it super bittersweet (I'm sure I'll get over that as soon as baby arrives!).
-relax
-get a pedicure
-watch a movie
-finish any last minute baby laundry
-freezer meals
-RELAX!

So exciting!! Get a pedi, get a massage, get your hair done, relax!
My mat leave starte at 37w2d and my water broke that night. I had so many things planned that I never got to do

@sera_87: I'm giving it my best shot, sleep isn't coming easy these days
@hergreenapples: Yay! I understand the bittersweet feeling. I don't know if it's even hit me yet really.
I'm watching Gilmore Girls and doing some laundry. Luckily my dog is being super cute and cuddly. I want to show him some extra love before the baby gets here!

I agree with freezer meals. We did them in single-serve portions, which was perfect for DH having things to take for lunch, and for all the meals when we weren't eating at the same time because someone was walking around with LO or napping or something. Also, go shopping just for fun! I haven't done that since LO's arrival, and I miss it! Even if you don't buy anything, go for a leisurely stroll around your favorite stores without having to check your watch for when the baby might get fussy, or scoping out where you might be able to nurse, or figuring out whether the stroller will fit between those racks without knocking things down.

Watch tv, knit, cook, sleep. Seriously, do all of these. I went into labor after work on a Monday night. I would have loved to have a day or two just to chill on the couch before LO's arrival.

Love maternity leave! Get a mani/pedi! Organize small drawers, shred old paper, get a photo system down for backing up phone photos (mine fills up so fast!)
Aka: take care of yourself and then do boring things that you won't have time or energy to do one LO arrives!

@sslm: Oh, the other thing that I've done (because I'm ridiculously type A) that would be a good mat leave activity is to pre-make the address labels for the birth announcements we plan to send after baby arrives.
