I have a small baby - he was born in the 1st percentile and maybe is now 5th. But my husband and I are small people - and even though he was only 5 lbs at birth he's gained over 10 pounds in 8 months!
I feel like there is a perception that bigger babies are better somehow. Like if you have a large baby or high percentile baby, you're doing something right. And if not, maybe you're doing something wrong. Or, maybe it's just an insecurity I have because I have a small baby.
I'm not meaning to stir up controversy, just curious if others feel like there is a perception that "bigger is better." If so, why? Does it date back to caveman days where the biggest baby would be more likely to survive or something? Seriously, I'm curious!
