I've tried Google with this question and can't seem to get a solid answer. I have a 2007 Jeep Liberty, want to get this seat, but need to install it RF without the angle adjuster (LO is 4 months old). I'm pretty sure it would fit WITH the angle adjuster, but unsure about without. I'd install it in the middle.
Does anyone have a 07 or older Liberty with the Radian RXT RF without the angle adjuster? Please say yes!

Favorite-ing this since I have a 2005 Liberty! I think 2007 was still the same body style before they changed it.

@mrsmate: I couldn't find anything there saying it would work without the angle adjuster. I just joined and about to post the question.
If I get a response there, I'll update this thread.

I have an '09 Honda CR-V and we had to get the angle adjuster in order to avoid pulling the seat in front of the Radian alllll the way up. I'm 5'8" and it definitely was not comfortable for me to be in front of the Radian in the front passenger seat without the adjuster.
Since they're both small SUVs, I figured space might be comparable in our cars. I just looked up the front and rear legroom measurements for my CR-V and the '07 Liberty, and the Liberty had a little less space for both. So, obviously it's not as firm an answer as one from an owner, but I'd say it's a pretty safe bet that you would need the adjuster. I know that's not what you want to hear, but I hope it's helpful.

@coacheswife123: You may be OK ... I think the Altima is pretty comparable in size to our Sonata? Let me know the year and I'll look up the specs, but the Radian is fine without the adjuster in the Sonata.

@Mrs. Yoyo: Ah! I'm holding out hope that it could fit in the middle, so it would extend in between the two front seats. Not sure it'll fit width-wise, though.

2011 Sonata - 45.5 inches front legroom, 34.6 rear legroom
I'd be cautiously optimistic? Taken together, the numbers are pretty comparable.

You can always find a store that sells it locally and ask them to try it out in your car. I can't imagine that they would say no. I love our Radians!

@allison: We just bought our Jeep in November and started TTC shortly after... Definitely did not make that a factor when car shopping and now I realize I should have!

@LindsayInNY: Are you wanting to use the convertible from birth?
LO has good head control, and hasn't quite outgrown his infant seat yet. I'm thinking we can make it at least another month in it. And I think once he can sit up on his own for a decent amount of time, I'm going to go ahead and put him in the Radian with the angle adjuster.
From car-seats.org: "The Diono engineers have said they were just being very conservative to make sure no one used it with a very young baby without head control."
Also, here's a thread showing the seat installed without and with the angle adjuster. Definitely a huge difference! After seeing those photos, I'm pretty confident it would not fit without the adjuster. http://www.car-seat.org/showthread.php?t=248908

@LindsayInNY: Ah, gotcha. You can always just do a infant seat first. We have a Maxi Cosi Mico, and it fits in the middle (and on the side I'm sitting on because I'm only 5'1", but DH is tall and can't sit in front of it).

@allison: Friends of ours had the same problem. He was too tall to sit in the passenger seat when their LO was behind that seat. So he always had to drive. DH drives a lot more than I do but I'd still like to have the option. I would just prefer to buy one thing and not have to replace everything at every stage of life (if possible).

@LindsayInNY: yeah, I hear ya. Looks like you might just have to get a new vehicle, when the time comes :/.
To be honest, I'm kind of excited about the prospect of getting a minivan one day! They look so convenient and I definitely wouldn't be worrying about all this if I had one now.

@allison: Haha, unfortunately that's not an option! We just got this one six months ago after our previous one was totaled during Hurricane Sandy. So if it means DH will be the one driving then so be it. Hopefully, we'll find an option that works instead!

@allison: You can always call Diono and ask them to give you a list of stores that carries it in your area? Worth a shot. I would let you try mine if you live near me! Or ask around on your FB to see if anyone has it in your area and if they would mind letting you try it in your car?
