I'm curious whether you think Obama will release his college records so that The Donald will donate 5M to a charity of Obama's choosing! The whole situation is so bizarre! But 5M is SO much money.

I feel like 5M is a drop in the bucket to Donald Trump. He brags about his wealth so much, you'd think he could afford a little more... Plus, I read the press release yesterday, and it has language included that Trump won't pay out unless the documents are "to (his) satisfaction," so no, I don't think he'd actually write a check even if Obama did release his records. I don't think Trump would ever be satisfied; more likely, if Obama responded, Trump would call the new documents fake, too, and refuse to pay what he promised.

Without commenting too much about politics (I refuse to talk about them!), I have to say in any case, Donald (as a Romney voter) is a genius. Unless Obama provides a Birth Certificate that looks exactly like one that Donald has for himself or his children, it's just a lose-lose situation for Obama. And all this publicity of course because it's the Donald and millions of dollars and charity.
It's dirty... it's genius... it's politics.

I hope Obama ignores him. I'm sorry, but Trump is a total idiot, and releasing records will change nothing. He will claim they are fakes too, and the drama will continue. *sigh*

who cares. I mean, the idea that President Obama isn't American is ridiculous. Trump is full of himself and just wants more attention. Why doesn't he offer to pay $5 mill for Romney to release more tax records?

@mrs. wagon: I think it is kinda birthery actually... he's looking for what country of origin the president put on his college records and passport. I didn't read the original press release though, so can't say for sure!

I wish he would just give it up. The guy has already been the President for 4 years. And I think the Donald will find some excuse not to pay anyhow.

The first thought that came to my mind when I heard about this and wondered if Obama would do it for the money for charity was "it's policy to not negotiate with terrorists". Haha!
The only way Obama can win this publicity stunt battle is if he provides records that Donald can't argue with, refuse Donald's donation, and then donate $5m of his OWN money.
Or he could just ignore Donald like most of us do

Meh; I think it’s stupid - especially the way he billed it as “election changing”. Whatever side of the aisle you’re on; I do think it’s got the potential to anger and alienate some moderate voters; the continued instance that the first black President *must* be different from “us” is getting real old, and a lot of people are tired of the thinly veiled racism. The instance that he must be from somewhere else and has to continue to prove his citizenship; that his grades must be faked (and if not faked, must be the result of affirmative action) is tiresome.
Considering the Apprentice’s viewership has always included a strong African-American following, which dropped by almost 2/3 after Donald’s birther nonsense started; it’s a pretty silly business move. But then again, considering his businesses have had to file for bankruptcy multiple times; Trump isn’t the most savvy business person to begin with.
Everyone I know (including the Republicans) lol'd for like 2 seconds at his little "earth shattering news" and have already forgotten him.

Obama referred to him as a "birther conspiracy theorist" so yeah... I don't think he's going to take the bait.
Plus, Trump is a douchebag.
