DD1 got a set of play doh from her grandparents. My 3.5 drops some and in .2 seconds either the dog or 16m old will pick it up and eat it. So those will go into permanent hiding.

Yes, DD got a few toys that she can't use 100% until she can walk better! She got aggravated with them today! So they are in the closet until she walks better

I was just getting ready to go through them for this reason. Some things are too old for her or duplicates so I will stash them. She's the only kid so it gets a little ridiculous on both sides.

Only things I want to pull out as needed, extra play doh cans (they don't need 12 out!), a few small sticker type books, a set of markers (they got 2) and then stuff that smells like smoke I'm trying to air out for a while

Play doh I'll keep out of reach because he eats it without supervision.
And he got a lot of large trucks. Might put some away because we don't have room for them all.

I'll hide things do we can continue to have new things for a while but I don't think there were any permanent hiding things. Then there are certain things that can only be used under close supervision (paint, play doh).

DS's birthday was a month ago, so between that & Christmas, he's swimming in toys too! Some are going away until summertime (he got a water table that I won't set up until springtime at least). Others are just going to have to wait until our tree comes down so we have room for them. LOL

I've hid a few toys from my mom. I prefer to only introduce a few new toys at once. DD will get them for Valentine's or Easter.

I'm amazed by how many people bought her felt tip pens and ink pads with stamps. They're going away until shes older, for sure! They play doh will be brought out for supervised play only (it gets everywhere and she eats it).

Definitely nothing going away permanently. The first thing LO opened was a Frozen play dough set and she had a blast with it. I did remember in the evening though at least three gifts that I forgot to get out of hiding and put under the tree! So she'll get those later.
