o most definitely! I mean we are going to let her decide but hopefully if we can get her involved she will want to be involved. -- I personally want her to play volleyball, DH has high hopes that she will be a champion tennis player... we will see!

I hope so! We're going to try to let her take the lead. If we notice that she particularly likes an activity, we will sign her up. Neither DH nor I were particularly talented athletes growing up, but I kind of hope our daughter enjoys participating in sports.

Hopefully! I tried everything as a kid - gymnastics, soccer, softball, field hockey, lacrosse, basketball, etc. I also dabbled in dance and horseback riding. If I wanted to try it, my parents let me. My husband played basketball as a kid but wasn't an athlete in high school. I hope she enjoys sports and finds one she loves enough to continue even if she's not great at it!

LO (almost 4 yo) has taken soccer, ballet, piano, and martial arts! Her favorite of these is ballet. I really want her to take up soccer and martial arts again soon... and swimming. we're long overdue for swimming. Probably this summer.... 2.0 will be 1 then so maybe they will take it a the same time.

I hope so! I had a very positive experience playing sports when I was growing up. We want LO to have some sort of activity regardless of whether it is a sport or not, but will likely start by encouraging them to try both sports (my love) and music (DH's passion). Hopefully they will enjoy both!

Definitely. My parents never encouraged me to play sports and I had to learn to do it on my own once I became an adult. I lost a lot of time!

I would love for my children to play sports. My husband and I both did most of our lives.

Yes! DH and I both played sports from about age 5 through college! I think DH is going to make an awesome soccer coach ; )

If she wants to. I always did ballet, tap, jazz, gymnastics, baton, etc. But we'll let her do whatever she wants.

If they want to, yes. I grew up with music--piano, singing, and dance. DH grew up playing every sport under the sun all the way through college. DH really wants our kids to play all kinds of sports (as his nieces and nephews are doing), while I would really love for them to take up an instrument. Our compromise is that we'll try to see what interests the child and let them choose which activities they would like to participate in.

For sure soccer, we have also already started him in swimming. We think it's important for him to be active and hope when he's older it will help keep him out of trouble!

FOR SURE! I know for me as a child I was pretty active in things when I was older and in jr high to HS. I would have LOVED to get a start on sports much earlier however. But living so far out of town and my parents both working A LOT made that hard. I def want to introduce the options and what not to our LO's younger than I was.

Hopefully not. Like I said in another post about sports, I would rather go to the dentist than have to sit and watch practice and weekly t-ball, basketball, whatever ball games. But, if LO happens to somehow end up interested in sports, we will support them of course. But my fingers are crossed for no sports interest.
I took ballet and dance for years – that I would encourage, but I also wouldn’t consider dance a “sport”. We are going to start them on piano lessons early.

Most definitely! DH and I are planning on throwing them in everything and then letting them decide what 2 - 3 activities they want to stick with for the long run

We want our son to be a little athlete! Hubby played tennis growing up, and I grew up playing softball, basketball, soccer, and volleyball. I played softball in college and I would love a little baseball player!

Yes. My hubs played baseball through college and would like to coach little league if one of our kiddos wanted to play. We wouldn't force it, but we would encourage them to have organized activities to keep them active.
