This is going to sound silly but the situation in the movie is like from my nightmares!! Whenever I imagine going to space I picture something like that happening and it terrifies me. I heard once that President Nixon had a speech prepared just in case the astronauts made it to the moon but couldn't get back and they no hope of ever being rescued. And would just have to die up there...lonely. That terrified me as well.
If I went and watched this movie I would probably have an anxiety attack. Lol!!
Needless to say, DH will be going to see the movie without me!

DH thinks it's going to be a huge flop, but we both agree that it would be horrible to be so alone! I don't think the actual death part would be bad, but the time until then would be awful, kinda like they say drowning is painless, it's the will to live that hurts. No thank you, I don't need to fill my mind with such things!

Nope. If I did, I'd want to see it in 3D, and I think the effects would make me sick. Literally!

Hell yes. The last movie the director made was Children of Men which is one of my favorites and arguably one of the best sci fi movies ever made. I will definitely be seeing this!

I totally want to see it...though I can't really see how they're going to make an entire 2 hour movie about her floatin' away...unless I'm totally missing something so far. But yeah, definitely going!

I closed my eyes during a preview we saw!!! The thought of it gives me a constant sinking feeling. DH teases me that he's going to take me on a date to see it in IMAX 3D.... No way!

I want to see it, but I'm afraid it's going to be one of those movies where the trailer is better than the actual movie. Like @ms.janedoe: said, I'm curious how they make a 2 hour movie out of that scenario. I really like Sandra Bullock though!

Yup, DH has been raving about it since he saw the trailer and we're going on Saturday now. However, my compromise is that our next movie is Don Jon. He's fine with that because he thinks the movie looks good. I think JGL looks good. It balances out.

I totally want to see this... I think Bee will love it! I just read the entire plot on Wikipedia, so I'm equipped to handle the stress of watching it ha.

I don't know. Honestly the premise looked SO DUMB to me. I don't know why really-- I just don't like the idea of such a small cast digitally enhanced type deal. I just assumed it would be a huge flop. But then I saw it got incredible reviews and now I"m curious. I don't know that we'll see it in theaters but we may get it at the redbox if the reviews hold out, just to see what the hype is all about!

@mrbee: The DH just told me that it got 98%. Wow! He asked me what I think it got and I couldn't really read him when he asked. I said 50% but was completely surprised it got 98%. Must be an amazing movie. I do want to see now, but I don't want to come home with nightmares.

@DillonLion: Yes. Children of Men is one of my most favorite movies (reminds me a lot of one of my most favorite books - The Handmaid's Tale). It was beautiful and terrifying at the same time and this one looks the same. There will be a lot more going on than Sandra Bullock floating lonely in space.
I had wanted to see this movie before I knew it was made by the same guy and now I really want to see it. -
I am fascinated by it, but just the commercials give me SERIOUS anxiety. I could NEVER handle seeing it. It's like Open Water x 100000. Maybe I'll go wikipedia it so I can know what it's about but not have to see it! HA!

I love George Clooney. LOVEEEEE. But I think this movie looks so cheesy! I probably won't be seeing it. Though I am more intrigued now that I see it's got such a high approval rating from rotten tomatoes. Maybe I'll watch it when it comes to redbox.
