    We made one from scratch, but it was just a regular cake, nothing extra healthy in it.

    I'm not sure!! That recipe on the blog sounds delicious! I may go for a mix.

    We had a regular bakery cake - not like I give her cake often so I figured it's fine

    @sera_87: love this!

    unhealthy! So far he's had no sugary things, no dairy and no grains so he will def get a huge treat on his bday. I doubt he will ben eat much? He'll probably play with it more than eat it. It'll be a small top-tier cake.

    We did a bean cake. J didn't care for it but I think I overbaked it haha! whoops.

    It'll probably be unhealthy. One of the bloggers posted a rainbow cake recently that I really want to duplicate (sorry, on my phone and too lazy to look it up). But we never give him sweets, and he won't have much at home growing up since D and I don't usually keep junk food in the house so I'm fine with the birthday exception.

    Ours won;t be traditional because of allergies, but it'll likely have tons of sugar for sure. Unhealthy! It's a celebration afterall

    I'm definitely going to make a "healthy" cake, like this Paleo Watermelon Cake from http://www.paleocupboard.com/watermelon-cake.html. But, I don't think it's smashy though! =P

    I thought about baking a zucchini cake (kind of like the banana bread idea), but then I got lazy and just ordered a regular old cake from the bakery in town. DD was on an eating strike the day of her party anyways, so the cake was entirely wasted. It turned out she was getting sick, poor thing!
