I had mine done when I was 10. It was a super big deal. My mom took me and I got to pick out a bunch of earrings. I remember really looking forward to my 10th birthday because of it. I was planning on doing the same with LO but I guess if she asked before then I might oblige.

When she asks and is probably at least 5. I think she will ask early though, she's a major girly girl and already holds my earrings up to her ears.

Nope. I did not opt to have my ears pierced until my 19th birthday.

My parents made us all wait until we were old enough to take care of the earrings ourselves. I think we got them when we were 13 or so, but I begged for years beforehand.
We are waiting for now, but it isn't part of our culture to have pierced ears. If I lived in certain places/had certain cultural traditions where it was the norm (Mexico, the Middle East, etc), we very likely would. I'm not opposed to it, especially because ear holes can close up, but I'm not in a rush, either. Now it would be just one more thing for me to take care of

I got mine done at 12. I had asked my parents a few times and my mom always said 12. I didn't really like it and I let the holes close up by the time I was 14. I'm 31 and still don't have pierced ears. I just don't like earrings myself. I would probably tell my daughters 12 as well.
