I probably will. While I don't think the debates are terribly beneficial (I think most people have their minds made up by this point), I still think they're interesting. Will you watch?

Yes. Only because DH will put it on, not because I really want to.

Nope. We have a baby class tonight so we won't be home, and the candidate I am voting for is not debating tonight
wonderful cherry / 21504 posts
I think so, but usually when I watch things like that because I feel like I should, I end up on the computer and not paying attention anyway. But I'm going to try!
I feel like they aren't that helpful since they all have their talking points practiced and scripted, so they never actually say anything interesting or real, but I'll watch a little.

No. I wanted to, but we have other plans. I am looking forward to hearing all of the highlights about it afterwards, though!
pomelo / 5331 posts
No, because it will make me all rage-y and DH doesn't care about politics so his apathy will make me even rage-ier. Plus he's a huge baseball fan so that's what's going to be on tonight lol.

Yeah, we'll be watching. DH started gearing up for it last night by re-watching the debate prep and debate episodes of West Wing. I'll probably multitask, but I know he will be glued to the screen.
GOLD / wonderful apricot / 22646 posts
Yea - we'll probably have it playing during dinner or while I'm folding baby laundry!
hostess / wonderful honeydew / 32460 posts
maybe. watching x factor now.. dh is watching it for sure,
blogger / wonderful cherry / 21616 posts
no we don't have tv... I might have tuned in if I had the option.

I always watch debates before elections (even though I'm pretty party loyal). I enjoy discussing debates after they've happened and I need to watch to be able to have an input.

We have tv date night planned for the debates - but the 9:00 start time stinks - 5:15 am is going to come way too early tomorrow.

@Mrs. Tricycle: we both thought they were on at 7! 9pm seems kinda late for presidential debates!!

Husband is looking forward to it... I'll prob just watch it by default
coconut / 8234 posts
DH wants to watch it and I am totally uninterested...but we're both in the living room because LO is in her co-sleeper in our room so I'm forced to listen. Time to break out the headphones.

i can't. somehow i used to like politics, but then i grew up and became jaded and cynical. i don't find it particularly fun to listen to two grown men lie out of their butts for an hour and a half. so, no thanks.

We're watching, and DH and I disagree politically. But I'm in a bad mood already tonight, so if he baits me, watch OUT.

DH just said: "I don't know if I can take an hour and a half of this bullshit"
GOLD / wonderful apricot / 22646 posts
@lawbee11: HAHAHHAHAHAHHAA my DH TOO! back and forth banter and BS.
hostess / wonderful persimmon / 25556 posts
@ladyfingers: precisely what you said. I need to go to bed, not feel rage-ey.

@mrsjyw: now he said he'd rather watch cartoon network than this!

Watching!
Do you think they called each other ahead of time to work out who would wear the blue tie and who would wear the red one? I bet Mitt is SO happy that his flag pin is bigger than Barack's.
GOLD / wonderful apricot / 22646 posts
@alie: bhahahhah I THOUGHT THE SAME thiNG! wasn't sure if it was party-affiliated?
coconut / 8234 posts
I decided to watch something totally mindless: America's Next Top Model College Edition. DH is watching, so I can see their mouths moving but hear Tyra talking...I like it better this way.
GOLD / watermelon / 14076 posts
@alie: I am sure it was planned. I think red is typically the republican color and blue is the democratic color. I like that Barack's has polka dots and Mitt's has stripes, though!

@lawbee11: @mrsjyw: Clearly I'm not paying as much attention as I should be to what they are saying...

The 20th wedding anniversary gift is china. I am guessing debating about China isn't what Michelle had in mind...
