Have the footage on now while I feed LO, but then we are going out and then having people over later. Maybe we will watch later on

I am fascinated with it! I haven't watched an inauguration in probably 8+ years since I have always been working on inauguration day.

@matador84: I went to the 1997 inaguration and I haven't watched one since then!

@autumnlove very cool! i am truly fascinated with the level of security and all the attention to detail. all politics aside, i think it is something that should be watched...especially as it happens ONCE every four years.

It's been on in the background while we made breakfast and cleaned up the house. We just sat down to actually watch though!

Yes, we have it on now, I agree- it is fascinating! I have friends who are there today.
I always consider where I was 4 years ago at the last one... We were in Orlando at a conference. We were just about to get engaged (I had no idea, but he had already asked my parents!). Since then, we've had a wedding and a baby and switched jobs.

I have it on and am half watching. This is the first time I can remember really watching though-- last year I had to work and we saw it without sound at lunch but that was it.
I just have to say, I'm pretty sure the Obama girls have more poise at 11 and 14 than I do at almost 32. I think about how nervous I was walking down a church aisle at my wedding, in front of only family and friends, and they just did that whole walk and everything in front of millions of people.

@foodnerd81 I agree! I can't imagine how hard it would be to grow up in that way.

I turned it on about half an hour ago. DH and I went to the one four years ago! It was soooo cold!

Yup - really enjoying it! The Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir gave me goosebumps with their rendition of Battle Hymn of the Republic. Nothing will top the arrangement of Simple Gifts played by Yoyo Ma, Anthony McGill and company at the last inauguration though!

Nope, never do. Even if I was home and I didn't set the DVR.

Watched it while feeding. He farted all the way through James Taylor and the oath. Then had a near blowout during the speech. Maybe I'm raising a little republican?!

@FutureMrsMcK: me too! I think I had hypothermia...I didn't stop shivering for days! We left our hotel at 2am to walk into DC and wait in line.

@Mrs. J: We had those little heating pack things in our shoes and gloves and it still didn't help! I don't think I've ever been that cold!
