Since DH's vacation/personal time starts over at the beginning of the year, he is going to use up the rest of his vacation time around the holidays. So he will take December 24-January 1st off. The only actual days he gets off are December 25th and January 1st (plus weekends like normal), so he wanted to take off some extra days to spend with us. I'm super excited!
Will you/your SO get any time off for the holiday's? If so, how much?

Yep. DH gets a 4 day weekend for Thanksgiving (well, he would if he was here), and a week off at the holidays (either the week of Christmas or the week of NYE).
I think this year he has the week of NYE (Dec 30-Jan 3) and then he'll get at least the 24-25th off as well.
It doesnt count against his leave days.

He's going to be off from Sat 21-Sun 29, will maybe have to work the 30th and then be off Dec 31-Jan 5. We'll be further out of town than usual so he took two days in addition to what they were getting. The after New Year's is unusual, but they are closing down the building to implement a new computer system, and giving everyone extra PTO. I'm really excited!

I took Thursday off after thanksgiving and Christmas Eve/day. Our company is in health care so we never technically close. DH is a college student so he gets tons of time off

We both get Dec 24-Jan 1 off. The whole industry shuts down. I'm taking a vacation day Dec 23 so I'll have almost two whole weeks off!

Hubs is taking the day after Thanksgiving off. Then he is taking Dec 23 - Jan 1 off (he has Christmas and NYD off as paid holidays). I'm totally jealous.

DH is a grad school student so he will have a month off from classes and TAing, but he'll be working part-time during that month. He'll be setting his own schedule, though, so I'm sure he won't be working Christmas Eve, Christmas day, NYE, New Year's day, etc. I will have off from Dec. 23rd to Jan. 2nd!!

DH is taking off a few days because he has too much PTO to burn off. I'm taking off two days for the inlaws trip. Then, working at home with LO on one or two of the Fridays. Then, LO is staying with my parents for a few days while we work since his daycare is closed until early January.

We are not taking any time off other than what's given to us -- Thanksgiving, day after, and Christmas. But work will be slow so there will be a lot of going in late / leaving early.

Our company shuts down between Christmas and New years. So I will get the 23-1st off. I am so excited because this is the first year I don't have to work during the shutdown! In my old position we had a deadline that we had to meet so I always had to work a few days. I'm so excited to have so much time off.

Nope, he just started a new job and he's in retail so we actually had to cancel plans to go see my family for Thanksgiving. Instead just LO and I are flying out for a long weekend.
He'll probably only officially get Christmas Day off although I suspect we'll both take Eve off.

His workplace has a weird vacation policy in that he can take as many as he wants. Sounds better than it acutally is, since there is a lot of pressure to NOT take them. I think he'll probably take a few days off between Christmas and New Years.

@sunny: Yeah, my husband is the same. He won't be taking any days off, but he works from home and work will be slow, so he will essentially have the time between Christmas and New Years off.

But really I get the afternoon of the 24th, the 25, 26th, afternoon of the 31st, and the 1st off.
DH is off from the 21st-Jan 2nd.

Nope. Being a nurse and DH being a firefighter doesn't lend to holidays off unless we specifically take time off for it (if we can even do that!). And since baby will be here in January, we aren't using any vacation time!! I work thanksgiving, DH works New Year's. But it's all good, we are used to it!

I get Thanksgiving and part of the day after Thanksgiving off.
For Christmas, we get part of Christmas eve and all of Christmas day off. However, I'm taking personal time off from Christmas day to New Year's day off.

My husband gets Thanksgiving and the day after, Christmas Day, and the day after, and New Years Day, and the day after. All the "Eves" are half days.
I'm currently staying home, but when at work, I'm on a teacher's schedule. I loved the breaks around the holidays!

Normally DH can't get time off around the holidays because managers are restricted from taking vacation time around Thanksgiving/Christmas. It is their busiest time of the year.
HOWEVER, since he does get a paid paternity/bonding leave and I am due November 28th, he will be off through all of Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's. He doesn't go back until January 17th.
This is going to be the best holiday season ever!

Probably not. We both get thanksgiving and the day after and Christmas Eve and Christmas and New Year's Eve and day but With baby coming in january he can't really afford to use vacation time and I need to get stuff done at work before the baby arrives.

With Christmas , Boxing day, New Years and weekends plus our vacation time we end up with 2 1/2 weeks off almost! We give the same vacation time to all our employees (paid).

We're both teachers and DH has next Wednesday-Friday off for Thanksgiving and Dec. 20- Jan. 6 for Christmas. I would have similar dates off, but I'm on maternity leave and I go back Mid-Jan.

Yep. He gets Thanksgiving and Black Friday off, and then he gets off Christmas Eve through Jan 2. Sometimes he chooses to go in and help with inventory during the week the company closes, but he's not required to.

Nope. We're in law enforcement and health care, so our places of work never close. But we gets lots of comp time and just booked a vacation for May at the beach!

DH's workplace closes down at christmas, so he will finish on the 20th and go back on the 13th January I think - all paid and he gets to keep his own leave!

Yep, DH's work site shuts down for two weeks over the Christmas and New Year period so everyone has that time off, all of it paid.

Yep! My husband gets so much time off work and he never uses it throughout the year, so when we get to year end he always realizes he has a ton of days to "use or lose" before the end of the year. This year he is taking off Tues-Mon of Thanksgiving week (he gets Thurs/Fri, so vacation days for Tues/Wed and then Monday only bc that is the day of my anatomy scan). Then Christmas week he is taking the 23rd through the 1st off. I think he only gets the 24/25 and 1st.
I'm taking off Wed-Mon for Thanksgiving and probably the week of Christmas.

Dh gets a week at thanksgiving and three weeks at Christmas/new years (unpaid) I am taking some vacation time. The 24-29 then the 1-5.

Nope! And he has to work on Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Christmas. 
He was just picked up on a new contract (he works for VA department of transportation), so he doesn't get any vacation or sick time for a while.
