@mrs. bird: yay! That's a great deal! And I still did opks along with my monitor, so you'll use them! I was super-ttc crazy:). But sometimes I'd get a smiley face opk the night before I got the peak on the monitor. So that made me pee on both types of sticks!

Wow, that's an amazing price! I think I paid $190 for my monitor and 30 sticks so you def got yourself a bargain!

@mrs. bird: You may already know this, but you can use the same sticks for the monitor and the CBE digis with the smiley face.... I used to just buy the big box of the refill sticks for the monitor and then use them in both the monitor and the CBE digi:) Otherwise they try to make you think that when you're out of CBE digi sticks, you have to fork it out for a whole new kit.....

@Mrs. Bird I just happened to be reading my Clearblue Easy Fertility monitor booklet today and while you can certainly use someone else's monitor, it warns you that it may then take a few months for it to get used to your system and predict correctly, so I'd definitely use it alongside traditional OPK's until they both come out the same. You start the monitor on your first period day, so restarting it is easy from a previous user. Great deal though! I paid $200 for mine, along with 2 boxes of sticks.

Yes I can definitely send you info on how to reset it. It took me like 2 hours of reading the instructions to even figure out if it needed to be reset, so here's the bottom line - when you turn it on the first time, it should show ALL symbols on the screen for a second, then "--" and an m. That means it thinks it's new. If it shows a number at the top right (mine said "99"), it thinks it's mid-cycle. When you get it, let me know what it says and we'll go from there.

I think what it means by learning your cycles is that it asks for sticks at different times depending on when you O. Like per charting and OPKs, I O around CD20. So it's going to ask me for my first stick on CD6 (tomorrow!)), but will probably learn that this is way too early and next month won't ask me for the first stick til probably CD11.

My cycles are actually pretty regular (other than that they've been getting one day longer since I got off the pill - first 24 days, then 25, then 26, etc.) so it figured mine out right away. I got two high days, two peak, and one high, just like regular. However, it asked me to pee on sticks about 5 days early. Next month it will supposedly just ask me a bit later, but they say you always go through at least 10 sticks or 20 sticks each time so I'll be curious to see what it does next month. I had a hard time using OPK's, so for me it was amazing to see it tell me exactly when I was ovulating. I hope it catches on to your cycle quickly and you have the same result.
