@Espion: follow me on MFP! My username is hellococobee.

I had a test yesterday so I spent so much time studying I only made it to the gym twice this week. But today's workout made up for it - 830 calories burned! I can already feel it.

Also down 3 lbs in 9 days!

Everyone is doing awesome! Very motivating to read about.

I'm on track. Working my work out plan, down 1.5 lbs and 1/4 of an inch. Planning some Valentine indulgences and hoping it doesn't erase my progress but if it does I'll be back on track in a day.

@smurfette: That is great! I am destined to be the chubby bridesmaid at this wedding, and i feel so uncomfortable about it. I know I have a cute baby that should make people understanding, but every other girl is super tiny (both small framed and fit or skinny) so even if I were my normal weight, I would feel huge.

My update is ...ehhh. I'm not doing terrible, but not great, either. We had people bring dinner to us 3 nights last week, which was sooo nice but not very healthy & I couldn't begin to figure out how to track it. Sadly, I think that's the last people who will be bringing a meal, so I have no excuses left. Today, I put the baby in the Ergo and went outside with the big boys for about an hour and a half at my parents ranch. I wasn't doing anything strenuous, but afterwards I was exhausted and really sore at my incision site. I need to build up with some really short walks when I'm wearing him I think.

This was a week of bad choices. Lots of eating out, little exercise. I ran a 4-mile race yesterday in 44:28 and I could definitely tell that my food has been bad. We are going to the store today and hopefully I can cook ahead today and tomorrow for the week.

We are away for the weekend on a mini vacation and it's hard to be good. I'm trying but it's hard with my family all around me eating potato chips and drinking fun cocktails etc. Ugh.

@Mrs. Blue: Meals from people are awesome but normally not the healthiest. We had DH's aunt here this last week to help and it was awesome to have her cooking but oh man it derailed the diet plan.

My week was also ehh. Someone else's cooking (and she came with a tin of cookies) and 2 small workouts. Hoping for some warmer weather because then at least we'd get outside.

    @Mrs. Pen: @lizzywiz: Congratulations!

@avivoca: I would love to run 4 miles in that time. My best 5k is around that! Hope you can cook ahead this week

We got in 2.42 miles yesterday. This week I want to work on increasing my water intake. I definitely don't drink as much water as I used to!

@Mrs. Pen: I need to come work out with you! Awesome job!

    @Smurfette: Girl, that is awesome!!!!!!!

@Mrs. Blue: You will look amazing! You just had a baby and have your hands full, be kind to yourself

So I "fell of the wagon" over the weekend....lots of booze and yummy (unhealthy) food (had to take advantage of the overnight babysitter!). I have made a mini resolution to not drink until our vacation, I find that even after a glass or two of wine, I start snacking and undoing all my hard work! Anyways, back on today, great eating and a nice cardio session at the gym--one month until my 10K!

@Mrs. Taco: do it! I need a workout buddy! do you work out at a gym or home?
Don't feel bad about the food- thats become my rule- no guilt. Because I know for me I let it get to me, then I get down about it. I like to allot myself a cheat meal once a week. Yesterday was my cheat- I went out for a burger and fries and DH and that night had some Lindt truffles. But I still got my butt out of bed and worked out this morning- we have to enjoy food too back to measuring food portions and counting calories today.

For anyone that's on my fitness pal- feel free to friend me! I'm hellococobee- just let me know who you are so I accept the request

Also I found the neatest tool yesterday.
    http://workoutlabs.com/custom-workout-builder/
I created different workouts for target areas I want to work on and can alternate between them. By now I kind of have a routine in the gym I follow, and it's mostly weights based- but I like a little variety and making sure I'm hitting all major muscle groups. For those interested- this is my go-to routine these days: http://pinterest.com/pin/Ax0zZwAQgPIDCnPCXYQAAAA/

I had a fun weekend and tried so hard to be good, but we were away and went out to dinner both nights. Everyone was drinking and I had a couple of glasses of wine. I am back up a pound and a half and feeling so discouraged. I need to start moving the scale again.

  16. sandy

    cantaloupe / 6687 posts

@travellingbee: it's so hard to get the scale moving! It can be so discouraging! But I think that's why it's important (at least for me) to weigh myself once a day so if there is any gain I can refocus rather than letting it add up over days and days. But don't be too hard on yourself - you still have to enjoy life. It's not an everyday or every weekend thing. I blew my calorie allowance on a lunch date with my husband - worth it! And then I ate very responsibly over the weekend to make up for it.

It's so frustrating bc the scale is moving so slowly for me - like a 1/2 lb every week if I'm lucky. I think I'm at the point where I can't really cut any more calories but I need to ramp up the exercise to burn off the calories. So while I'm doing ok with limiting my calories I'm not doing great with the exercise part. I basically haven't worked out since the weekend. So I'm going to have to recommit myself

  17. sandy

    cantaloupe / 6687 posts

For those of you on My Fitness Pal or counting calories - how many calories are you aiming per day? MFP tells me 1200 calories but my weight loss is stalling out so i'm wondering if should cut more calories or just suck it up and start working out longer and harder

  18. travellingbee

    hostess / papaya / 10219 posts

    @sandy: mine says 1500 calories. I can't imagine doing 1200! Wow, that's willpower!

  19. sandy

    cantaloupe / 6687 posts

@travellingbee: it was hard at first but it's been good bc I don't drink my calories anymore (addicted to sparkling water and iced tea). And really limits carbs and processed foods. Like you eat all the salad you want and it's hardly any calories. Or eat a ton of roasted veggies and it's less than 100 calories. So it does force me to make better food choices.

@sandy: When I did their little calculator it put me at 1450 for the day. I'm hitting that goal every 4 out of 5 days, but man it's tough. But I have an addiction to carbs I am struggling to break. 1200 would be very hard!

  21. travellingbee

    hostess / papaya / 10219 posts

@sandy: I feel like I'm doing that too, but I have to snack more often. And I would rather snack on fruit than veggies and that means more calories. Good for you for being able to do it though. I would try to up your exercise rather than cut more calories though. I am stuck right now too. C'mon scale.

@sandy: mine is set at 1400, and I'm usually always under. I wouldn't go below 1200 though. Maybe try to mix up workouts- maybe try a HIIT routine because those are great plateau-proof fat-blasters. Tabata is a class most gyms have that is a great HIIT style. I like the class because I can make sure I'm doing it right and timing my rests correctly.

Alright - I'm going to bite the bullet and join.

    (1) How much weight would you like to lose between now and March 31? 5 pounds would be awesome!

    (2) How are you planning to achieve that goal? Try to eat better. Workout 5 days a week. I don't live near a gym, so I'll need to do it through videos that I have.

    (3) What exercise/diet are you currently doing? Two days ago, I started Piyo. It's a 6 days/week program and I'll be happy if I do it 5 days/week. I have to be realistic with limited time I also downloaded the 100 pushups app. It has certain reps each day and gradually works up to 100 pushups.

    (4) Which part of your body would you like to focus on the most? Arms and belly

    (5) How are you planning to treat/reward yourself for achieving your goal? Some new clothes for our trip to San Diego in May!

We have been trying to get pregnant with our 2nd for 1.5 years and I focus on that way.too.much! so, perhaps working out will relieve some of that stress and help out..

    cantaloupe / 6687 posts

@travellingbee: do you like dips? Like hummus or Greek yogurt dip? I found a jalapeƱo Greek yogurt dip at Costco that is 50 calories for 2 Tbsp and I will cut up half of an English cucumber and eat it with the dip and its a good snack for less than 100 calories. Hummus is about 70 calories for 2 Tbsp.

@sandy: I would try cutting all carbs for a 2-3 days. Don't track calories, just eat protein, veggies, and some cheese. I have done this before when my loss stalled and it helped.

@Smurfette: Yeah that is how I got things moving again before but now I've derailed a bit. This didn't used to be so hard to do!! Ack, middle-age!

Feeling really on track fitness wise. With this utterly beautiful weather, we've been on our bikes a ton. 10 miles yesterday, which is my new record for pregnancy riding. 3 more today, which is a nice daily amount right now.

Food wise, not great. I've been eating an ok amount, but not enough fruit by a long shot. I just haven't felt like it, and I'm having some aversions to fruit, which really isn't helping.

Weight wise I'm not thrilled either - I'm now up 5 pounds at 18 weeks, which feels like way too much. In my last pregnancy I hadn't gained any weight by now, so it's hard to see. I'm really struggling with water weight this time, which is so frustrating. I hope I at least haven't put on much fat.

But over all I feel pretty good - I've been moving, been lifting a few times a week. I feel healthy and fit, generally. My back has been much better than it was, which is great.

@sarac: 5lbs is great! Don't even worry about it while you are pregnant.

Ugh I have been trying to get on this train since the beginning of the year but constant sickness makes me keep postponing it. I started yet again today!

    (1) How much weight would you like to lose between now and March 31?

Since there are 6 weeks, 6 pounds would be amazing.

    (2) How are you planning to achieve that goal?

I count my calories using My Fitness Pal.

    (3) What exercise/diet are you currently doing?

I bought the Kayla Itsinses 12 Week Bikini Body Program and need to start it!

    (4) Which part of your body would you like to focus on the most?

    ABSABSABSABSABSABSABS

    (5) How are you planning to treat/reward yourself for achieving your goal?

Hopefully I can fit into the swimming suit I bought last year!

Between yesterday and today, I shoveled 3/4 of our driveway (DH did the other 1/4 and part of the street. We got 6-7 inches of snow on President's Day, and I ran/walked a mile in the snow before shoveling. Whew! My bum is really sore.

@Mrs. Taco: I, too, dove off the wagon into deliciousness this weekend
Back on track Monday. Not gonna measure until Friday to give me a chance to repair the damage.

You calorie counters are amazing. I haven't done that since my early 20s and just don't have the patience! If I were rich I would totally pay for someone to make me food within my calorie budget, but I right now I am hoping to get things moving with exercise. If that fails I might just eat Lean Cuisines and canned soups to make counting easy, lol.

  36. Smurfette

    GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts

Urg! I gained .8lbs this morning. I am hoping it will be gone by Friday, when I weigh myself again. I wasn't very good last weekend (V-Day, bday parties, and wine). I threw out brownies last night so I wouldn't be tempted by them. Going to be better this weekend.

@lizzywiz: I'm not meticulous about it. I like to get a general idea of where I am, especially with protein since I lift.
I don't always take the time to manually enter in homemade recipes, I will find generic to get a good estimate. Saves a lot of time

I've lost another 4 pounds, which puts me 6 pounds away from pre-Graham weight. Then I can tackle the Finn & Elliot weight. I have to credit BFing & trying to keep up with toddlers and a newborn for the weight loss because I'm still not eating super. I have made more better choices this week than last, so hopefully next week I'll be able to continue to increase the good nutrition. As for working out, I finally got out with all three boys today for a walk. I wore G and pushed E & F in the stroller. It was really short because I stopped at a friend's house to return a dish and the boys started playing with her kids, so I Ing out there until it was almost time to feed the little man. I feel more confident now about getting out with them when we have a pretty day having had a reasonably successful first attempt.

I've been fluctuating right around the same numbers for a couple weeks and its driving me nuts. I can't seem to make it drop. So I found this article online by Jillian Micheals. http://www.jillianmichaels.com/fit/lose-weight/break-through-weight-loss-plateau
She suggests I should try eating more calories for 3 days then drop back down. So I'm happily going to eat a bit more for the next few days I'll report back if it works!
