I take the train to and from work and with the weather getting chillier my legs are getting cold!
Where do you buy winter weight dress pants that don't cost an arm and a leg?
If you wear leggings underneath do you just change out of them at work?

@cmomma17: haha I walked from work to the library today (about 10 blocks). I might've started to lose feeling on my thighs.

@locavore_mama: what about a super long coat? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lands-End-Diamond-Quilted-Chalet-Dory-Long-Down-Coat-Black-Sz-Xs-Gold-Hardware-/221319964564?pt=US_CSA_WC_Outerwear&hash=item3387b2a794

I wear boots most days, changing into shoes if I feel the need, plus fleece lined tights on days I wear skirts.

Banana Republic usually has really nice flannel-weight wool dress pants (and everything is 35% off right now).

I live in FL so I have nothing productive to add but.....
I totally thought 'winter weight' was going to refer to needing bigger pants in preparation of all the food, sweets, and booze most consume in the winter. Haha.

Um, well I guess it's not very cool, but I used to wear silk thermals under my dress pants. They are even thinner than tights or leggings under pants, and they don't create static..

I wear Banana Republic's wool pants or tights/leggings under my regular dress pants. I leave them on at work bc it's always freezing at work!

@T-Mom: Yes! I do this, too.
Also, totally lame/80s, but LEGWARMERS!!! I wear them on my commute when I wear dresses or skirts. So cozy!

@Mrs. Taco: I totally thought the same thing! (And I'm Canadian, so I'm not sure what my excuse is LOL)

@looch: Do tell about these fleece-lined tights!! Being toasty warm is my goal in life!

@ineebee: I am on the hunt for some other options, the ones I have I bought by accident at a department store abroad.
Shopbop has them, but they are $35 a pair!

@ineebee: @looch: I can't help on the tights but if you or a friend have a Sam's club membership they have fleece lined leggings for $8 for a two pack. They probably aren't going to last forever but at $4 a pair I don't care!
I wish I had a suggestion on what to wear. I am the worst person to ask because I am miserable in heavy clothes at work but I hate being cold outside so I just don't have a solution.

Lined pants are really warm! I have a pair with just a satin lining. But, (don't cringe!) LLBean and similar stores have flannel lined pants! Otherwise ditto fleece lined tights. My MIL gave me some from Kohls, I think! Uniqlo also makes special thermal clothes:

@Mrs. Taco: Southern California here, and I thought "because of the holiday eating?"

@LindsayInNY: Nice!! I have Uniqlo's Heat-Tech leggings, but they're so thin they only "work" when I layer them with something. But on my trip to NYC in a few weeks, I am definitely stocking up on those fleece-lined leggings!! Thanks for the heads up!
