I'm 23 weeks pregnant and starting to have tons of anxiety about working outside of the home and parenting 3 little ones. I would love to hear stories about those who have parented 3+ little ones. Mine will be just turned 5 and 3.5 when baby is born.

I'm glad to see there is another crazy like me out there! Currently on mat leave with a 4.5 y/o, 3 y/o and 5m. I don't go back until January, but already thinking about it lots!

I have 5.5 year old, 3 year old and 1 year old. Honestly it is complete chaos all the time in our house. I try to do as much as possible the night before such as packing lunches. I try to pick out outfits for the week on Sunday for the kids. Thankfully my husband and I get them ready together in the morning and evenings. We kind of divide and conquer. Most mornings we are late.......some mornings are smoother than others and some mornings no one cooperates!

@matador84: I'm 23 weeks pregnant too! My kids will be 4.5 and 2 when baby arrives. I try not to think about the craziness of it otherwise I'd get stress out too. Luckily we have grandparents that helps out when needed. And I agree about having DH help out and dividing and conquer! I expect the first few months will be crazy but once you find your groove as a family of five, it will be okay!

We are wrapping up our first year working with three kids. 6, 3 and 1.
Honestly it hasn't been that much different than with two!

I have a 3 y/o 2 y/o and 3 month old. I don't go back to work until feb, but have been really stressed about this. A job posting just came up this week for an evening position ( instead of my 10 hour split shifts during the morning/evening.) I applied for the evening position so we don't have to worry about daycare for 3 kids. I'm totally intimidated working this evening job as I won't get home until after midnight. I feel like it will be better for the girls though.

@sunnyday: it gives me anxiety just thinking about it and I haven't even. Had the baby yet!
@Canoli: @dolphin: I feel like I had a pretty good system with two but of course it was chaotic and I frequently ran on little to no sleep. What makes this a super hard dynamic is mh husband has a very long daily commute so he is always gone before I get my older two up in the morning and usually home right about 7 in time for dinner. We tag team baths and dinner clean up with the older two, but it's going to be a challenge trying to get a baby down, kids fed, stuff ready for work the next day, etc.
@MrsB2012: I've been tossing around the idea of sah, but my older two are in private school and that is a luxury we wouldn't be able to afford on one income. It's weird because just today I texted a friend saying I didn't think I could do my job anymore (my boss can be super moody), and I spent all day thinking about maybe I should just quit and sah. A friend sent a group text later in the afternoon about a great job posting where she works and it would be amazing but it would be like starting all over. Now I'm almost more stressed than I was before!

@matador84: I can see why you would be stressed because it sounds like a lot of time you would be doing it solo. Honestly my oldest son is a huge help and I have to enlist his help sometimes. Of course he has moments where he wants to be a "baby" too but often I will say I need your help, can you be a helpful big brother and do xyz? All this to say that it will certainly be challenging at times but once you get in your groove you will figure it out. My confidence level and ability to not sweat the small stuff has greatly improved with more children. I have to remind myself that I can do it! Us Moms are superheroes!

There are a couple of women in my office that have 3+ children. The way they make it work is with full time care at home in the form of nannies.

I WOH and my kids are 4.5, 3, and 1. I have a huge support in my mom who lives with us so she watches the baby and picks up the other two so they don't have to go to after care. But my husband works a shift schedule so he's not home about 2/3 of the time to help with mornings and bed time. So it's not like we have 3 adults to 3 kids all the time. And sometimes kids just want mama. It can be hard. My work is very family friendly which is also a huge help. I'm finally feeling like three kids is not totally overwhelming and I'm a year into it. But overall it's amazing and fun.
