Try to shower wnd get dressed before she's up? Luckily DD chilled out a lot by the time I starts work. She can hang out in her crib while I shower and runs around and plays while I get dressed. I used to speed shower though with the video monitor right outside th shower.

Sometimes baby just needs to cry so you can get something done. I hate doing it but sometimes you just have to. Usually DH keeps C with him at his feet or wears him if he needs his hands. He always showers the night before so he just needs to do touch ups and basic hygiene and dress himself.

I have to shower at night and get my clothes ready the night before. They feed him at daycare so I take that out of the equation. I would get everything for LO ready the night before also, be it bottles/baby food/now solids.

I don't think I've showered the morning of since having LO. Also, I don't wake him up until I'm ready to practically walk out the door so I can change him, get him ready. I nurse him in the car while I'm waiting for daycare to open. If your DH is doing drop off and LO could take a bottle, maybe try that. I also always make sure and have a back up shirt in the diaper bag, usually just a solid black tee in case I got spit up on me on the way out the door or while car nursing.

LO will tolerate a bouncy seat that has swinging toys attached to it. I just buckle her into that right in front of the shower so we can still see each other.

Most of the time she is totally happy to do that these days. If she is upset, she can cry for a few minutes. We have to get out the door regardless, so sometimes she just has to cry. She's not in danger and she's not in pain, so I'm not that worried about it.

@highwire: I'm impressed C will still tolerate the bouncy seat! Now that M can crawl and pull up she wants no part of any sort of seat! I think she'd probably flip herself out of it! My hubs is alone with her in the morning after I leave for work so he ended up having to set up the pack n play in our master closet and he plops her in there with a bunch of toys while he showers and gets dressed.

I usually pray she doesn't wake up till I am up showered and ready for the day. If not, I put her in the RnP in our room and she can watch me while I get ready.

Definitely have bottles, lunches, and bags all packed the night before.

@JoJoGirl: BTW...I used to not be able to shower unless my DH was around the first 3 months. Every once in a while, I could do it while napping, but it never failed that he would wake up while I was in the shower and would scream bloody murder! And nothing worked while he was awake, so I feel your pain!

Do everything at night, seriously! Pack lunches and bags (i even load them the night before!), eat breakfast on my way to work/at work (hard boiled eggs, cooked sausage links cold, etc).

I get up at 5:15...do makeup, coffee, etc. At 6:15/6:30, I wake the baby up. Change her diaper, feed her, put a disposable on, clothe her. Then set her in the crib (if she cries? tough shit) and put clothes on. Pick baby up, face her OUTWARD so i don't get barfed on and immediately put her in her car carrier. I get dressed RIGHT before i leave the house. And set all my clothes out the night before.

And honestly? This morning, she screamed bloody murder in her crib while I went to the bathroom. Sometimes, that just happens and the baby has to cry because I have to get ready for work.

Oh and I've told him that morning duty includes actually being there to get LO when he wakes up, it's not fair to say you have morning duty then be gone until just before it's time to leave, making the other person really do all the work. Since evening duty will consist of more than just picking him up - feeding, bathing, entertaining, etc. until the other person gets home.
