New books? We also started with the little potty chair and within a few days she wanted the big potty, so we have a stool next to the toilet for her feet. I think it helped to give her a choice: big potty or small potty. No option for "no potty". I also only let E wipe/flush/wash her hands if she produces. The little potty chair is awesome for traveling to other houses or when you lock your kid in their room to sleep. It's always there as an option. The toilet is never inaccessible.

i read the Oh Crap potty training book and it's been two weeks now-E hasn't had a pee accident in almost a week now! We only use diapers for bedtime now. The method has worked really well for us. Maybe your LO just doesn't understand why you are sitting her on it

@Purpledaisy: but I'm saying she may not be able to equate the feeling of HER having to go with sitting on the toilet. Otherwise she just sits on it, and if she does go, it's passive. We had good luck catching E when she would pee and sticking her on it to finish. And it's taken her a few weeks to now be able to tell us she has to go before she actually goes. The big vs little potty thing really seemed to help E out a lot! In fact, I think that may be when she started wanting the big potty. I can't remember

@Purpledaisy: we went naked for a couple days, then commando, then underwear. And I literally was on her like white on rice and kept the potty chair a couple feet away at all times. I turned the tv on and we played at the table. She figured it out really quickly once she felt pee dripping down her leg like that! She gets fidgety and grabby when she has to go. And would say "uh oh!" like she knew it was bad

@Purpledaisy: we have also used a full wipes box as a stool, FYI. Not ideal but something for her to rest her feet on until you can buy one. That's also how C brushed her teeth for a few weeks until I actually needed the wipes.
