We had some friends over on Saturday night for dinner. It had been planned for a few weeks and we had been talking about how fun it would be to get together and get our kids (our sons are the same age) together, etc. 20 minutes before they were supposed to arrive I got a text from my friend saying she was having her mom watch their kids through dinner and overnight so that they could have the night off so it would just be her and her husband over that evening.

We had planned the dinner time around when her kids get off of nap and had planned food that her kids would eat (prepping extra allergen friendly food etc.) and we had prepped our incredibly shy son that their kids would be over and had cleaned his room and toys, etc.

Anyways, it really irritated me and I found it incredibly thoughtless. I texted her something about we'd like to know next time in advance so that we could get our own babysitter for our kids or plan it for another time so that we could have spent that time hanging out with DS instead of letting him watch a few shows while we entertained.

My DH thought it wasn't weird or thoughtless at all - it didn't bother him except that he was sad that C would miss out on time with kids.

This doesn't really matter at all and isn't a huge issue obviously, but would this bother you? Or am I just being super sensitive?
