I feel like this too! Especially after my dh's cousin posted on fb while I was in labor, basically announcing I was having the baby! I was really upset but tried to just not care. People will post pics we give them, or share things I post and it bothers me.

But I just don't want to deal with the confrontation so I seethe quietly. They love lo and are just excited. No help sorry! But major commiseration

My inlaws thankfully aren't on social media. But we also have other family members who do take pics of the kids, or we text them and they share on social media. We are okay with it since we've shared the pic.

He's a grandpa sharing a picture of his grandkid with his friends. No, this wouldn't bother me.

I would be annoyed if I purposely kept my LO off social media and the grands didn't honor my request to do so on their end too. In this case you post pics of your LO, so no, not annoying. However, I would make it a rule/ request that all pics of your LO on social media also include an adult in the photo. This may reduce the chances of someone stealing your LO's likeness.

I give a disclaimer and always ask that no one social media me.

However, you are saying you just didn't get around to it, so you seem to be fine with sharing the pic... you just don't like the quality of his crappy pic of the pic or you think it rude for them to share your pic?

If it is the latter I would just tell people please don't share prior to them having a pic.

My parents do this all the time and it annoys me too. My mom is constantly taking photos I put in Instagram (where I have like 8 followers, all of whom are good friends) and sharing them on Facebook. That being said, I know that it's abbot crazy and petty of me so I've never said anything about it, I just roll my eyes.

Wouldn't bother me at all. Proud grandparent sharing pics of his grandkid. I wouldn't think twice.

It sounds like you just wanted to be asked before he posted it?

Maybe you can tell your FIL to ask you or your DH before posting pictures you privately shared with him?

I can see this being annoying. BIL post pictures of my LOs to get likes, mostly about how spoiled my LOs are when he comes by. I wish he didn't do that but at the same time I can not control him. So I let it go. *sings frozen song*

I would be annoyed but probably let it go unless it happens frequently. In my case I would know it comes from being happy and proud of his family but I'm not sure what your relationship is with your FiL. Next time I would write my Fil or say something if I didn't want a photo I sent to be posted online. But yes I can totally see why it would bother you.

It wouldn't bother me. It only bothers me when it's news or something that isn't theirs to announce, like a new baby arriving (before the parents have had a chance to share), an ultrasound during the first tri, etc.

Meh. My parents use photos that they've edited & cropped ... sometimes as their profile photos. They love LO, and they are super proud to show her off. I roll with it. If I was concerned about LO not being online, I would say, "DH and I really want to keep DD offline, so please don't share photos of her!" -- They would respect it.
