Okay, DH and I have been set on a girl name for a long time, and I honestly still LOVE it. But I'm starting to question if it's going to be considered way too out there. So I'd like some thoughts. We're not telling the name, but I think I can explain my concerns well enough to get some idea what people think.
Basically, the middle name we want is from something pretty popular right now. The first part, which is also what we'd call her, is just a normal name that no one would think twice about. But we want to include both parts of the name, which is 100% unquestionably going to be recognized by fans. We wouldn't call her by the whole thing, so it'd only be people who heard the whole name who would recognize it. As an example of what I mean, if we named a girl [first name] Clara Smith, no one would ever think anything of it. If we named her [first name] ClaraOswin Smith, Doctor Who fans would know exactly where that came from. Though in that example, the nickname we'd call her would be Clara.
Hoping that that made sense. Anyway, if you really loved the name, would you go with it in this situation, or would you just do the first part? It would screw up the whole sound of the name, and lose a lot of the feel of it that we love, but is it just too weird?
