P (17 months at Christmas) has two smaller toys that are kinda like toy kitchens... BUTTTT i still wanna get him a play kitchen for chirstmas. he loves the one at our local library that's much bigger and has more compartments to open/close so i think he would play with it. but would you buy a kitchen if your lo already had these two toys (ones pictured below)
eta: he hardly ever touches the elmo one but LOVES the tunnel one.

Those look more like they're designed for smaller children, so I would get one that will last him longer. But I would resell one or both of the ones I already have.

@kiddosc: agreed, I would get a bigger one and resell the other ones. Or store away for #2 if space isn't a concern, if there's going to be a second.

Probably not. I find that in order to "play kitchen" the least important thing is the kitchen itself. The food and the accessories are more interesting to my son.

Yes, we just got a play kitchen recently. LO has plenty of time to grow into it. He can't even reach the freezer portion of it. So far, it's been an excellent purchase for us.

yeah, i would buy a new one and sell those, but i like simpler stuff. i think @looch: nailed it though. if you like those ones, then i would get some food and pots and pans.

@stargal: my lo has the tunnel one too and LOVES IT.
Anyway--I'd use that $$ to get a shopping cart or a cash register, or a tool shelf instead of a kitchen. Actually, we're looking into those little cottages that the kids play outdoors with ,with a built in slide.

Maybe something different than a kitchen? My LO has a giant kitchen at grandma's house, so I'm thinking of getting him this because it's smaller {and I want to play with it too}.
