So, I was thinking about getting some baby leg warmers for DD, but I didn't want to spend a lot on them (since I don't know if I'll like them or not)...I was going to make them, until I checked out eBay and saw that you can buy them for pretty cheap! I keep going back and forth on whether its ok-I've bought fabric and jewelry directly from hong kong sellers, but theres something about baby clothes that i'm a little more cautious about.
What would you do?

Yes, I used to buy wholesale from Hong Kong when I owned an online baby boutique. For like .25 each pair you really can't go wrong. And I am assuming they are the same kind that I bought and they are great quality!

It depends how much the shipping is...if it's way more than the item, I'd skip it!

So I went ahead and bought a few pair-they were 1.98 (with free shipping) and so I figured, what the hey. Most stuff is made in China as it is, why pay more than I need to, right?!

Why would you be concerned? My niece has tons of clothes from HK that her grandma brings back. My brother is bringing me back a traditional Chinese new year outfit for M from HK.

This is going to sound totally weird, but I just feel like if you buy a brand name, you know what you're getting. Granted, a couple of years ago Carters recalled all of its baby clothes, so buying something in the US doesn't guarantee its safety..but I read there was an issue with China-made baby clothes having unsafe levels of formalahide (or however you spell it.). Its silly really, because as I fold DD's gymboree pajamas, its all made in China.
I bought from 3 different sellers, sunwebzone, zhangl2010 and 7store. All had lots of feedback and mostly positive.

I ended up buying a lot of 10 leg warmers off ebay for under 15 bucks and I 've had no complaints.

I saw a deal for leg warmers on Zulily and it turns out they were the exact same leg warmers I was stalking on eBay from HK. They just put a fancy label and packaging on them, it was a small company, but many larger, name brand companies do the same since everything seems to be made in China nowerdays.
One set of leg warmers I had bought, I really liked. The material's nice and soft. Here's the seller: (the scrunchy ones were soft, but they offered better colors before). The best part is it's FREE shipping!

Hehehe - my in-laws are going to be in H.K. soon so I am going to email them some pics and see if they can score some cheap! Actually, a lot of times it's still cheaper on eBay than buying stuff actually in HK!

i think the only reason i wouldn't is because of the shipping time. i can hardly stand zulily because of the long wait time....
