My LO is almost 6 months old...where has the time gone?!! My husband and I have things set up so I can stay home until she hits a year old. I'm already starting to get sad I have to leave her because I know the next 6 months is going to fly by! Anyway I've been making different things I could possibly sell and try to save up more money to stay home

Here is one of my ideas!
Would you buy this and if yes how much would you be willing to pay? I'm thinking of doing both onesies and little girls sizes. The flowers I made and stitched on

I haven't purchased baby clothes myself--just making use of gifts from friends and fam to begin with so I don't know what a good price would be, but those rosettes are super cute!

Super cute! I'm crafty myself so I make my own things, but I hope to sell things too so I hope people will buy homemade items like that

@tororojo: Thank you! I'm just trying to figure out if I could actually profit or not. I know I could make them cheaper if I used Gerber onesies instead of Carters but they are just SO thin and see through...I don't like that!

Super cute! I plan on making some baby items once I get (and learn how to use), my sewing machine.

@aMohror: Seems like it could be tough to turn a profit on Etsy for something small, since there is so much baby paraphernalia available...but it would be great to be able to stay home!

I'm cheap and only buy carters onesies on sale for $5 or so I think the max I would pay would be $8 to $10 but I know people pay a lot more for them on etsy

I would buy something like that if the rosettes were attached to a fabric covered hard headband (for little girls), maybe up to $10? Or possibly if it were made into a little girl's necklace. There is so much out there on etsy though.. Even as a consumer I get so lost and overwhelmed! Good luck!

I think those are super cute! I'd probably pay between $5-10 for one. Are they machine washable? I actually just had a conversation with my SIL that a lot of the cute onesies on Etsy say hand wash only which is turning her off from buying too many of those for her little girl that's due in May. Those look like something that would make a cute gift though!

Really cute! But I wouldn't buy it for myself. maybe as a gift. But I'm cheap like that. Didn't buy many clothes. Majority are hand me downs. I mostly bought things for my son since most of the hand me downs were for girls. But all were cheap onesies, that get so nasty when they start solids....even with bibs..... I second doing it for maybe hair pieces. I think I'd be more likely to buy that. Maybe at 10 bux a piece. Or hair pins at like 5 bux a pop.

Good luck! I think you have a lot of room to be really creative w your pieces!

@T-Mom: ditto! I would totally buy a headband!!

My LO is a spitter so all her clothes need to be able to withstand lots of machine washing so a onesie like this wouldn't work for us.

I'm a diyer so id make it before buying. Etsy has great resources on pricing to be profitable. It's adorable but kids clothes are a really saturated market online. It might be better to look at local craft fairs or boutiques for selling at a higher profit?

That's adorable! I agree with others on headbands! Those rosettes would be useful for a lot of things!

I think that's the kind of thing that people would buy as a gift, not for their own LO. Like I can 100% see my little sister, who loves etsy and personalized gifts, buying it for her niece or something-- if she could find it. That's the big thing, like people are saying-- it's hard to find anything amid everything on there. I've seen things along those lines (not specifically rosettes, just handmade baby things) in craft markets and stuff and there I bet you could sell it for $15 or more and people would buy it. Online it's just harder to distinguish yourself.
It's super cute though and I bet you could come up with a bunch of themed items-- headbands, onesies, little cardigans maybe...

I’ve seen headbands made with rosettes like that, as well as those fabric rosettes on barrettes and pins to put on hats and dresses at local craft fairs and they seemed to be selling pretty well! I think they were around $7-10?

I definitely might buy a onesie like that at a craft fair; and I love buying handmade little rompers and dresses and knitted items at craft fairs. So, you might want to check out a couple of craft fairs and see how they go!

Thank you for all of your wonderful feedback! I definitely wouldn't be selling on Etsy, or anywhere on the internet for that matter! If I do plan on selling this or something similar I plan to keep it local I like your ideas of maybe doing headbands instead. I guess I didn't really think of that because my daughter never wears them! I haven't started making any more because I'm trying to think of other ideas I could possibly do. I did wash my daughters and it help up great in the wash! I HATE hand washing so those of you that mentioned that, I'm right there with ya!

I was just about to come back and answer this thread again. I saw something very similar to this in Target the other day (although they were little t-shirts and the rosettes weren't as cute) and they were $8 a piece. I thought that might help a little, although I do like yours better.
