I dunno but I read that someone named their baby hash tag. I hope that's not true...

@mrbee: It's already a thing! My friend works at a private school and the kids use "hashtag," for example, "Hashtag Not really!" or something like that.

I don't think our kids will use it--they'll be on to the next great social media innovation.

@mrbee: hahaha. i swear it's not often and it's always around people that get it. i feel like it's saying "tag me!" when people take a photo. which is always said as a joke, not as a plea to please upload the photo to facebook and tag me immediately.

i swear i don't sound douche-y. and when other friends say it, it's always followed by a laugh.

i am more annoyed by hashtags on instagram that make no sense. like why do you need to add #dog, #christmas, #latte? hashtags should always be funny or have to do with an event so you can see all the photos from that event at one time. otherwise, why are you hashtagging?

I'm still not 100% sure what hashtag means. DH tries to explain it to me, but I don't tweet so I feel like unless I actually do it and use it I'll never understand it.
